  A chill April 7, 2026, Tashkent-Samarkand day trip is perfect, using the high-speed Afrosiyob train to minimize stress. Samarkand is stunning due to its, "grandeur, mythology, and craftsmanship", featuring iconic, detailed turquoise-tiled mosaics, the Registan, and vibrant local markets.  I booked a reasonably priced Samarkand day tour through Viator/TripAdvisor three weeks before arriving in Tashkent. The experience was seamless with Mr. Mirzokhid, who handled transfers, picking me up at 9 AM for the Tashkent-Samarkand-Tashkent trip and providing my VIP train tickets at the station.  After a 3-hour speed train ride, I arrived in Samarkand and was met by my guide for the entire day, Usman. He is a 24-year-old local who is incredibly funny and game for all my photoshoot requests, ensuring there was never a dull moment. He was full of insightful knowledge, and I learned so much from him. I was amazed by the stunning architecture, and I thank him for explaining the history behind each site. Eventually, a heavy downpour hit Samarkand, making it impossible to visit some of the other tourist sites I had planned. I decided to head back to the Samarkand Registan instead and opted for a 360-degree video experience. After an hour-long tour, my guide, Usman, treated me to some local ice cream. We spent the rest of the time chatting and laughing before I made my way to the train station for my 6:00 PM trip back to Tashkent. I left carrying with me the rich history of Samarkand—stories of triumph and sorrow, hope, resilience, and its enduring foundation. I arrived back in Tashkent City around 9:00 PM. Mr. Mirzokhid’s brother, Odil, picked me up from my hotel.   I’ve been to 63 countries and this was one of the most incredible places I’ve ever been to. The tour is planned perfectly, allowing you to see so much if this ancient city in one day. The sites are amazing and the tour guide (Dilfuza) was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the city. The train ride was fast and comfortable. The tour company is very good about communication and clearly outlines all expectations.   A long day but a fabulous one! The hotel pick up and train tickets were perfectly organised well in advance On arriving at Samarkand I met the guide Feruz who passed on lots of information about the various places we visited We even had time to try a Plov which was lovely. If you have time when in Tashkent make sure you take this trip. It’s a long day but totally worth it!

  From a perfectly timed pick-up and a nice morning chat on our way to the train station, I was guided onto the train from Tashkent and off to Samarkand. From there, Delia recognised me and took us to our first stop - of wonder after wonder. She gave interesting and in-depth history while helping to take some nice photos every now and then. Every place we stopped was memorable and worthwhile. Samarkand is an incredible place. Fantastic meal at a beautiful place, enough time for everything listed and more, with enough time for an stress-free ride back to the train station. Mirzo recognised me at the station back in Tashkent and as it was off-season, not too out of the way, and he had time - he dropped me back at the place I’m staying instead of back at the nearest Hotel listed (which was the Hotel Uzbekistan, an hour’s walk away) … I would highly recommend this as surely the most convenient and most educational way to see Samarkand in a day.   The arrangements, from hotel pick-up and drop-off to train connections, were very convenient. In Samarkand, the guide, Dilfuza, was incredibly knowledgeable about everything Samarkand. I highly recommend this company; I was very impressed.

  It was a fun and fun tour to find the hidden treasure of Samarkand through a guide. Mr. mirzokhid picked me up to the hotel early in the morning and took me safely to the hostel.It was a perfect tour and I would definitely recommend you.

  Dilfuza made our Samarkand day trip absolutely unforgettable. Everything was perfectly on time and the entire day flowed smoothly without ever feeling rushed. She’s incredibly knowledgeable and shares fun facts and stories with such ease, adding so much colour and flavour to a place already rich with history. She was punctual, kind, patient, and very friendly throughout the day. The places we visited were beautifully selected, and lunch was wonderful. Her storytelling truly brought Samarkand to life. I would highly recommend Dilfuza to anyone visiting - she made our experience exceptional.

  Samarkand shouldn't be missed. Wonderful dive into the rich islamic history. The tour guide, Aziza, was very impressive. Door to door. Early booking is a must as high speed train tickets are limited and I had to settle with a slower train option.
