With a mix of cultural influences on the nation's cuisine, it's no wonder that Malaysian food is a lip-smackingly complex beast.
We'll meet in the old district of Chow Kit and Kampung Baru, one of the last remaining districts that is yet to be developed into glassy high rises.
Don't expect other foreigners. Stroll in this local neighbourhood of nightly street eats, sampling a variety of 15+ tastings, carefully curated for their culinary history.
The flavours change across the year, but highlights include the fragrant bowls of laksa, hand stretched rotis, nasi lemak with piquant sambal and herbal chicken rendang, charcoal-grilled mackerel, and soothing iced cendol with custard-like durian. We'll end with a fine view of the mighty Petronas Twin Towers.
I'm sure you have a lot of your plate, but here's some food for thought. While it's possible to attempt such a culinary marathon yourself, you'd be one sandwich short of a Malaysian picnic not to join me on our moveable food feast.

Pace yourself! Tour was long and we weren't sure we would be able to sample the last foods without certain indigestion. Same was a great guide: knowledgeable, humorous and patient. Two thumbs up.

The guider is very nice, and tour covered number of local food, but I didn’t think most of food were in a quantity as I expected, because I tried few local food myself, and they were excellent, yet very inexpensive. I also feel our guild’s explanations sometimes were not focused on food only, spent a little too much time on unrelated topics.

So much good food and our tour guide, Kieran, was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable about both the country and the food as well as very warm and friendly.
