  Our experience with Mimo was one of the highlights of our trip. The star of the day was Chef Mikel Martija. His passion for Basque food and culture was contagious, and he managed to be incredibly knowledgeable while also being absolutely hilarious. We learned a tremendous amount, but it never felt like a lecture. Instead, it felt like spending the afternoon cooking with a talented friend who loves sharing his region with visitors. The class was hands-on, engaging, and packed with useful techniques and cultural insights. Beyond the recipes themselves, we left with a deeper appreciation for why food is such an important part of Basque identity. If you’re debating whether a cooking class is worth the time while visiting San Sebastián, book this one.   We booked with Mimo, having never been on a culinary tour before this experience, so I was a little hesitant about the price tag and if it would be worth it. Kai greeted us and took us to the area we had meandered through the day before, Parte Vieja. We went to various places to try the pintxos and we enjoyed every place and pintxo immensely. I am sure we would have overlooked most of these places while walking on our own, so it was great to be able to experience what they had to offer. Kai was great about giving us a little history about each place too, which we particularly enjoyed. He picked out great choices which I believe he was doing based on his conversation with us and what we would prefer. He was a consummate guide and we felt the experience warranted the price tag easily.

• Ask for Kai. Would do this again (twice)!

  We had a great time. I highly recommend this tour as it's well worth the money! Vero was our guide and gave us great local knowledge. It would have been worth it without the pintxos.

  Great tour of Old Town San Sebastián wrapped inside a fantastic Pintxos experience. Our guide Kai was fun, knowledgeable and flexible. We gained valuable incite into the process of visiting the various restaurants that really helped us during the remainder of our stay in town. The food and wine we had were great and we enjoyed the day a great deal. Kai shared his knowledge of food, wine, history and his personal experiences - he was a delight. Highly recommend doing this tour early in your visit to San Sebastián so that you get the lay of the land.

  Our guide Almaden’s was a local, full of personality and shared her city with us. We really enjoyed our time with her and got to taste amazing food and wine from Basque Country! We loved experiencing the pinxto culture!

  Veronica guided us with one other couple to all the best pintxo bars in San Sebastián. She is a wealth of knowledge, and chose the most delicious pintxos for us to try. She also has a wonderful sense of humor and was just plain fun to spend time with. Topa!

  Superb tour with Itziar - she was absolutely lovely and chose the most delicious pintxos for us to taste. She took us to bars we would not have gone into and gave us a true flavour of San Sebastián! A delightful way to spend our wedding anniversary - thank you!

  Excellent experience! We decided to do the pintxos tour as we thought it would be a good way to get to know the local bars and food, we weren’t disappointed! It was our first visit to San Sebastián and, before the tour, we found it a little daunting knowing where to go and how to order etc. Our guide, Kai, was very knowledgeable about the local area and cuisine. The tour was relaxed and friendly with a few mentions of local history along the way. We haven’t done many group tours before and I didn’t know what to expect but it was a small group and not overwhelming at all. It was such a joy to have the decisions made for us; Kai chose dishes and drinks at each bar we visited and everything we ate and drunk was delightful. We got to try things we may not have otherwise ordered. I would happily do this tour every day we are in San Sebastián! Great value for money and a highlight of our trip so far.

  Truly phenomenal tour with delicious Pintxos and great wine pairings. Our guide Kai was absolutely awesome - easy to talk to, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and took us to great spots. The tour felt like spending a relaxed afternoon with friends while enjoying excellent food, wine, conversation and learning about the history of the city and its culinary scene. I think the Mimo tour is 100% a must-do experience for any visitor!
