Experience the adventure and beauty of exploring the Namib desert with your driver/guide. There are many interesting sights to see including desert fauna and flora, and giant sand dunes. Navigate the thin stretch of coast where giant dunes meet the Atlantic ocean on your way to Sandwich Lagoon.
Hotel pickups in Walvis Bay ( Swakopmund pickups at N$100.00 per person) and lunch that includes finger snacks, sparkling wine and something sweet is included.

5.00We did a tour with JP and it was such a great day out. Sandwich harbour is like no other place we have ever been, so stunning and stark but with amazing wildlife and scenery. JP made it feel like he was a mate sharing with you a part of the world he just loves, which makes it all the more special. Recommend this tour to anyone and everyone!!

5.00Special experience where dune meets ocean, quite spectacular. Our guide Martin had an excellent knowledge of the terrain and driving skills. This made the whole family relaxed and we had fun. It was a great drive and nature trail excursion. Would highly recommend this to families coming to the area.

5.00JP with Red Dune Safaris Namibia is a great guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the Sandwich Harbour area. He seems genuinely enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge of the dunes with his guests. He fit me in to a group last minute. He also gave me a recommendation for a craft beer in Swakopmund which I tried last night. Excellent!

5.00Brilliant fun - lots to see, great views, wildlife, knowledgeable guides. Plus, a lovely breakfast with bubbly and oysters in the dunes. Gets super busy when the cruise ships aer in. We were lucky to go in a group of 4 in a small vehicle, drove along the beach and saw the seals, and up into the amazing dunes. Great breakfast afterwards with bubbly and oysters.
1/2 day tour with JP. Incredible!

5.00JP, thank you so much for this fantastic tour. My wife and I had an amazing time. JP picked us up at 9 am and we first visited the local salt factory. This was really enjoyable and JP answered all our questions. We then made our way through the dunes and then to sandwich harbor. It was amazing to see so much wildlife (jackals, gecko, springbok, ostrich, others). JP really knew his stuff and we learned so much! Sandwich harbor was beautiful and JP arranged a perfect vegetarian meal for us, we are picky eaters! The day was capped off by a few sandboarding runs which was really thrilling! Please do yourself a service and book with JP, he was amazing. Great banter and it we really connected with you on a personal level. Thank you so much for a wonderful day!

5.00It was a real stroke of luck that on our first day in Walvis Bay during our cruise, we had the opportunity to experience the half-day Desert & Dunes Photo Tour with Red Dune Safaris. As soon as we were welcomed, it became clear that we were in the best hands – from start to finish, the entire tour was characterised by professionalism, warmth and an enthusiasm that was immediately infectious. Our guide, JP Koch, not only convinced with his exceptional friendliness and charming humor, but also impressed us with a remarkably deep knowledge of the region. With great passion and vivid narratives, he made the fascinating landscape, unique wildlife, geological features and cultural backgrounds of the Namib Desert and the coastal region around Sandwich Harbour experience for us. By the way, we were able to learn new things and enjoy the beauty of this special place intensively. The ride itself was an incomparable adventure: Over majestic sand dunes, along the wild Atlantic coast, always with spectacular views and thoughtful photo stops that invited you to pause and marvel. 5.00Excellent visit especially not to be missed, many explanations about wildlife (could see several whales, sea lions), geology. Apparently it's better to go around in the morning, the view from the dunes overlooking the ocean is exceptional, the weather was foggy at the start and rose very quickly in the early morning. Thanks to Martin our driver.
