This 4-hour 4x4 adventure tour is specially designed for our clients arriving via passenger liner. You will be met & picked up at the Walvis Bay port where your cruise ship will be docking. Before heading out to Sandwich Harbour we first make a stop at the Walvis Bay Lagoon to admire the flamingos and occasionally a great white pelican, flow the Walvis Bay Salt Refiners with all its pink salt lacks. Now we are off to the Nambi Desert -Sandwich Harbour, one of Southern Africa’s richest and unique wetlands. Wedging between the sea and dunes "if tides permit"; if tides forbid, surf the dunes up to the many convenient lookout spots. Lots of time are granted to explore the area as well as photograph opportunities. Finally, enjoy a light picnic lunch with some cold beverages with a natural desert backdrop, then hit the dunes for some more excitement before concluding your adventure to the Kuiseb River Delta, a dry riverbed where you can occasionally see springbok, oryx, or even ostrich.

Sandwich Habour is where the Namib Sand Dunes meet the Atlantic Ocean. Join us on a half day excursion to one of the many highlights of Namibia. On this excursion you will experience beach driving and thrilling dune drives with fantastic photo opportunities. Plenty of stops where you can experience the fauna and flora and some animals.

Once you made your booking please make sure to keep in contact with us and providing us your details which will be the best to get hold of you, this is in regarding to the time we will meet and pick you up at the port the day of your excursion. We also monitor the docking time of the passenger liners, and can only give you 14 to 7 days prior the cruise ship arrival in Walvis Bay all the info for you to know for that day.

5.00On time we were welcomed by Guide Hans on the ship. A great tour with lots of information awaited us. Hans explained everything, whether about the development and modification of Sandwich Habour, the animal and plant world or salt extraction. The drive through the dunes was fantastic and we felt in good hands at all times. The picnic at the booth at the end was absolutely delicious. We can definitely recommend this tour.

5.00Wild Space Adventure Safaris moved the time of our tour to better accommodate the time our cruise ship was in port. I received a very detailed email about where to meet them and what to expect. Our excellent guide Hans took great care of us and made sure we saw the best sights when the lighting was best for photos. He was very informative, friendly and accommodating. The tour of the dunes should not be missed if you visit Namibia. Hans made sure we got to see flamingos, seals, a jackal, springbok. He explained about the salt mine, gave a science lesson about the iron in the sand, provided a delicious lunch with champagne. We always felt safe, even driving down the steep dunes. We thought this tour was an excellent value.

4.00This tour was well organised. As promised, the tour operator of Wild Space Safaris contacted us 2 weeks prior to the tour date to advise of starting time & again on the day of the tour. We travelled in a convoy of about seven 4x4 vehicles, 4 persons to each. The long drive along the beach was very scenic with sightings of seals, flamingos, large flocks of cormorants, dolphins, whales & even a jackal on the beach. Our drive up & down the dunes was good for an adrenaline rush as Dune 7 is nearly 100 m high. We got to walk/slide down this dune on foot which was great. We really enjoyed the champagne/beer picnic with delicious snacks & chocolate cakes. The only small negative to the tour was that our vehicle was faulty. One rear door wouldn’t open from the inside & the window didn’t open. We needed the fresh air because there was a strong exhaust smell in the car. We would have also liked more commentary along the way. Having said that, our driver was very skilled & at no time did we feel unsafe. It was a very enjoyable tour.

4.00Great views and wildlife. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Many stops at very interesting places. Only negative is our pickup time was changed from 9:30 to 12:30. But as we are learning this seems to be the norm in Africa. We have done three excursions now in Africa and all three changed the time to 3 hours later. Nice lunch on the beach.

5.00This tour was amazing. Marius gives an excellent tour. There’s are no words to describe the beauty . The pink lagoon , the flamingos and of course the dunes and a nice lunch with amazing wine .
