Sanjay Gandhi National Park
Sanjay Gandhi National Park is a 87 km2 (34 sq mi) protected area in Mumbai, Maharashtra State in India. It was established in 1996 with headquarters at Borivali. It is notable as one of the major national parks existing within a metropolis limit and is one of the most visited parks in the world.
Kanheri Caves
The Kanheri Caves, nestled in the heart of the park, stand as a remarkable testament to Buddhist heritage, once a vibrant center of learning and spiritual pilgrimage. Sculpted by devoted monks from the 1st century BCE to the 9th century CE, these caves were intricately carved into a grand basalt rock formation, embodying centuries of devotion and artistry.

He explained everything clearly and made the tour enjoyable. The natural views were beautiful, and the overall experience was excellent. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Mumbai!

5.00Our guide, Kishor was excellent because he gave a good history of the Kanheri Caves and his personal experience with the religion the caves are connected with. Very knowledgeable and schooled to answer every in-depth questions you may have. The Sanjay Gandhi National Park guided by Kishor was also excellent because he lived in this area and experienced the park when growing up in the park with multiple members of his family employed in the park and still employed in the park. He knows a lot of people in the park and even got us on the bus first before the crowds of people for the Tiger Safari. We saw many tigers caged and even uncaged very near the bus and they were actively moving about. The Jain Temple was a different type of Jain Temple that we have seen before in India and much more interesting because we saw everything close up. They also arranged a Dharavi Slum Tour for my wife and I and our guide, Subhan was excellent because he grew up in the slums as a child and took us through most interesting areas in the slum. He knew how to maneuver every turn while walking every alley. This company has good tour guides that lived in the area and you get good first- hand experiences. You will experience and learn the real thing! Highly recommend this tour as we have been across India many times before and this is a good tour. Our driver Deepak was excellent the whole day that he drove us. He gave us water as we needed and good driving, which is important in Mumbai.
