I’m an east coast native living in Southern California, so I was particularly intrigued by my first time in a desert botanical garden. It’s a relatively short walk, but it’s not wheelchair-accessible. There were some striking plants and I appreciated learning how their soil was alive. The garden is nice for what it is. My favorite part was the art along the trail!

Compact and beautiful. Great selection of native plants very well laid out.. read a review here where someone complained that in the summer there was no collar. There was a riot color in August.

Green everywhere - amazing in a desert location. The artwork enhances the look of the garden. Amazing flowers and even fruit trees. Take your time and sit and enjoy the views.

The Garden is small, and only a few years old, so is still developing. We arrived just after opening time when the volunteer gardeners were working in several parts of the grounds. It was interesting to watch them work, and they and the staff were quick to explain what they were doing and why. We then took a one-hour (free) docent tour. Our guide had spent a career in land reclamation in the region, and was devoted to sustainable gardening and natural landscapes. We learned a great deal during a highly entertaining hour--that turned into 90 minutes because the six of us on the tour asked so many questions. We saw many examples of wild plants of the region, medicinal herbs, and plants from outside the region that will do well as the climate warms and gets drier. A new section of the garden demonstrates traditional farming techniques on a small scale with may heirloom varieties. If you are interested in plants and gardening, this is well worth the stop.

We would not have gone in had we known that the "garden" was so small! Not much on offer given that we were charged $10 per person!! We were there for about 30 minutes and that included sitting on a bench and then watching a hummingbird! Felt like a bit of a ripoff.

No staff available to answer questions or make recommendations about the prettiest areas of the park. An interesting drive and a few special areas to wander around.

I belong to another botanic garden, much bigger, so this really did seem small. Because of reciprocal agreements, I visited for free. It was an extremely windy day which made it more difficult to explore, but being small made it more doable. I enjoyed the visit though as it has nicely laid out areas with plants and sculptures. Unless you are planning to sit and relax for a while, an hour is enough time.

This garden is small but well laid-out, and gives good exposure to dessert flowers, trees, and other plants, especially interesting to those from greener, wetter parts of the country! When we visited, there were three artists' bronze sculptures placed picturesquely throughout the garden, and they really enhanced the experience. There are some benches to sit on, and the facility thoughtfully provides sun umbrellas to use when strolling.

This place is only ~7 years old and is clearly still in the developing stages. Small, pleasant, and peaceful with a lot of sculptures in addition to local plants of both an ornamental and indigenous nature. A fair number of flowers for our visit, but not a particularly photogenic spot. Docents were eager to talk about the plants or garden. They are currently having an evening Shakespeare play (Romeo and Juliet, June 2019) which we did not see. Not the first thing I'd see in the area, but worthwhile if you're here several days and running out of things to do as we were. We've been spoiled by larger more established gardens in St. Louis and beyond.

I love botanical gardens and will make the effort to visit them whenever I can. The garden in Santa Fe was beautiful. It’s not very big, but has a lovely collection of plants. Currently there is an exhibit of bronze sculptures among the plants.
