By taking a short walking tour (max 9 km) with us, you will be able to learn about the history of the oldest island in the Azores, told by fossils that are 5 million years old, walk in the middle of natural reserves and protected landscapes, in complete safety and tranquility, to appreciate the best that life has in store for us, to contemplate nature in its purest state. It is advisable to bring water, shoes and comfortable clothing. We can choose one of the many approved short-route trails that exist on the island of Santa Maria.

5.00We had a really nice half day hike with Miguel (The guy on the picture. So, you get what you see here) He explained a lot about the island's flora and geological highlights. Really, really informative. He also made sure that he catered the route to our needs and skill level. Very flexible in that sense and we are grateful for that. I was pulling his leg a bit that he deliberately led us through a swamp.......but that was really just a joke. It had rained a lot and we were quite aware of what we were getting into. Miguel is a fun guy and we really felt save and in good hands. His passion for what he does here was clearly noticable. We'd gladly go on a hike again with him if we return to Santa Maria.

5.00We spent a wonderful week in Santa Maria with family and friends. A charming island with stunning landscapes. We made some extraordinary trails, only so you can know and discover the charm of the island!! One of which, Pico Alto to Bay of Angels, accompanied by Miguel, who gave us to know beautiful places and explained us in perfect English all kinds of vegetation, fauna and much more about the island. Miguel is of extraordinary sympathy! Thank you Miguel for the availability, flexibility and professionalism with which you accompanied us! Will be to recommend August 2025 Switzerland

5.00Our guide on this tour was the owner himself, Miguel. He picked us up from our accommodation and drove us up to the top of Pico Alto. We parked our van at the top and hiked our way down to the main road. Miguel taught us about all the plants and topography of the island on our way down. We were even able to get a sighting of Santa Maria's endemic bird, the Santa Maria goldcrest! We had a great time hiking and learning about the island, and Miguel went at our pace the whole time. I would highly recommend this for anyone visiting the island!

5.00My sister and I booked two half day hiking tours of Santa Maria with Miguel and had a great time. He took us to so many beautiful places on the island and told us lots about the history and geology. Miguel adapted the tour based on our interests and was mindful of our pace and ability. The scenery was spectacular and there were so many things we would not have seen and learned without him. I would recommend these tours to anyone wanting a great outdoor experience in Santa Maria island.

5.00My sister and I had the pleasure of spending three nights on Santa Maria, and the experience was definitely elevated because of Miguel and Ricardo! They were friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond! We appreciated every beautiful moment on the island and it was the highlight of our trip to Portugal! ❤️
