Designed for travelers with a stopover, this private experience lets you discover the highlights of Chile’s capital in just a few hours. You’ll be picked up by private vehicle directly at the airport and welcomed by a friendly, passionate and knowledgeable local guide.
The experience is mostly done on foot, as we believe walking is the best way to truly discover Santiago. You’ll see the colorful streets of Barrio Bellavista, soak up the lively atmosphere at Baquedano Square, visit the civic center, and enjoy the views of the Andes Mountains. Along the way, we’ll stop for a tasty snack to keep you energized while exploring.
The tour duration depends on your stopover time and is fully flexible. If you prefer less walking or a slower pace, we are happy to adapt the itinerary and use the vehicle more. At the end of the tour, we’ll drop you back at the airport for a smooth continuation of your journey :)

Fabulous Valparaiso to Santiago Tour

5.00This tour was fabulous and completely worth every penny. Mauricio picked us up at our hotel in Valparaiso, carried our heavy suitcases out to his SUV, and safely drove us to Santiago. During the ride, he regaled us with stories about Valparaiso and Santiago. He had so much interesting information to offer. Once in Santiago, he took us to the most interesting sights in the city, the likes of which we’ve never seen: an amazing shopping/living village in the heart of the city (Mercado Urbano Tobalana); a gorgeous green space (Bicentennial Park) with colorful plants and trees and black-necked swans, and amazing views; an old fort on Santa Lucia Hill (which he graciously drove us up to the top of a hill which we’d never have been able to climb), and awesome diverse neighborhoods (including Lastarria and a very cool restaurant, and Italia - including a delicious lunch). We were sad when Mauricio had to drop us off at the airport to fly home. He was a pleasure to spend the day with. And the owner of City Trekking Guide, Ignacio, was so very accommodating. We highly recommend this tour, this company, and the guides they hire.

5.00We had a great layover tour with our guide Eddi and our driver Rodrigo. Everything was well organized and so we were fortunate to see all the important sights. The trip is perfect for a lang layober in Santiago.

5.00Fernando was a terrific guy and a great human being. We walked over 9 miles on this full day tour so you need to be reasonably fit for this one. Fernando shared his Chilean pride and soul with us and we could not be happier with the experience!

5.00Edward was excellent. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He asked about my interests and customized the tour to my liking. Rodrigo was an excellent driver and also shared knowledge and sights around town. My flight arrived mid morning, and I needed to spend an overnight at the airport hotel (Holiday Inn) they picked me up and dropped me at the hotel at my requested time highly recommend this tour.

5.00Mauricio picked us up from Santiago airport and gave us an amazing insight of Santiago as only a local can do. He catered the tour to our preferences and made what would have been a looong 8hrs at an airport lounge into a fun visit to an amazing city. We felt more like we had a friend showing us their city than a paid guide. He was perfection in getting us back to the airport without any stress in making our flight. Highly recommend booking this trip if you have time

5.00I had a wonderful layover tour with Fernando. We spent the day visiting Santiago's neighborhoods, learning about the nation's history and past and current politics which was of great interest to me. Fernando was a very accommodating guide and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for a seamless tour to and from the airport!

5.00From the very beginning of booking this tour Ignacio (the Viator contact) was in regular communication with me. Mauricio was our tour guide. He met us at the Santiago airport and was flexible in the tour start time as we were coming from a Viking cruise and were not sure what time we would be dropped off at the airport. We were about 45 minutes later than we had planned on. I was in constant contact with Mauricio so he knew our situation. Mauricio greeted us with a huge smile and very pleasant demeanor. Lovely, patient, kind man. We didn’t really know what we wanted to see so he was going to show us what he thought would be the highlights. As we were driving we mentioned we would like to visit a place where we could see local handicrafts. Mauricio took us to the perfect village with dozens of small shops filled with handmade local handicrafts. We were thrilled. Beautiful place with beautiful items. We drove through the newer part of the city, then went to the old section and walked to see the architecture. We then drove to the Fort and took fabulous pictures of the city. A lovely green space in the middle of the city. We drove to see the Presidents palace, the Court house, government buildings and the architecture was amazing!! It is a beautiful city and very clean. We were a little worried about getting back to the airport late so we ended the tour a bit early. Mauricio drove us to the airport and came in with us to help with our luggage and to check us in to Air Canada. I highly recommend this tour and if have Mauricio as your guide you won’t be disappointed.
Great whirlwind tour

5.00I had a 12 hour stop over in Santiago and wanted to use my time well to see the city highlights. Pablo collected me from the airport exactly when and where described. He then took me around the city, showing me beautiful parks, historical buildings and stunning architecture. He also explained some of the rich history of the area. I was dropped off back at the airport with plenty of time to check back into my next flight. This was a seamless and interesting tour, a great little taste of Santiago and a nice way to stretch my legs in the sunshine between several long flights.
