Transporation is not included; we recommend UBer to acccess the old city.
The meeting point is Plaza de Armas by the fountain. (Near Catalá Jewelry Store, Departamento del Estado and City Hall). If you plan on taking an Uber, input 'Alcaldía' (city hall) as Plaza de Armas does not appear. Look for the blue umbrella!

3.00For context, I’ve done many food tours around the world and regularly seek them out when I travel. Overall, I would rate this experience as average and quite expensive for the level of service provided. I went in with high expectations after reading reviews describing this tour as “the best they’ve ever been on.” Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the city and its history and was generally friendly. All of the food we did receive was delicious. However, my primary disappointment came during the dining portions of the tour. Based on other reviews, I expected explanations of each dish and its cultural or historical significance to Puerto Rico. Instead, once we sat down to eat, the guide often disappeared, leaving us without any context or discussion about the food itself. At most, we would get a description of the food one could read off a menu. Later in the tour, our guide mentioned that we did not receive a sauce with one of the earlier dishes that was culturally significant to Puerto Rican cuisine. While I don’t mind missing an item, it was disappointing that this wasn’t communicated upfront - especially since learning about the food and its cultural importance was the primary reason I booked this tour. It’s possible the quality of the experience varies depending on the guide, but unfortunately, this one did not meet the expectations set by prior reviews. TLDR; The experience ultimately felt more like a walking tour paired with restaurant reservations rather than a true guided food tour. In hindsight, I think the money may be better spent on a dedicated walking tour of Old San Juan and choosing your own restaurant, or creating a self-guided food tour.

5.00Our tour guide “WikiPablo” was the most informative and personable tour guide we have ever had. He even offered to let us contact him with further questions the following days after the tour through his socials / email. He was almost a member of the family of each place we went and explained the culture behind every dish at every place. He also gave us a great history of old San Juan and its buildings. I cannot recommend this tour enough!

5.00This was one of the best food tours we have taken. Gia was our guide and she was very nice, courteous, and knowledgeable about the history of not only San Juan but Puerto Rico. The restaurants we had tastings were very nice places to sit down and eat. We learned some new dishes and all of the tastings were so delicious. We would gladly return to each of the restaurants. Gia did something I wish other guides would do and that is while we are sitting down and tasting the food then talk about the food and history. So many guides have us stand on the hard streets, in the heat, and then talk about the history of the area. Much better while we are sitting in a cool restaurant. Liked the entire experience and would highly recommend this tour.
