Scuba Dogs is a PADI 5-Star Dive Center; the only official operator with all gear, restrooms, showers, lockers and professional staff right there at the Marine Park.

In particular, this scuba tour for certified divers is uniquely AMAZING in the sense that it's a shallow dive no deeper than 30' which allows you to explore safely without decompression issues; practice basic skills and neutral buoyancy in a protected bay; encounter a great diversity and abundance marine life including yellowtail snappers, damselfish, stingrays and turtles; and explore a diverse bottom composition including the historic fish wall, statues, roman columns, shipwreck structures, and coral reef formations.

After a colorful description of the historic and ecological value of this epic site, a professional theory review on the science of diving, and basic skills training in the shallow part of the shoreline, you'll be exploring the entire bay safely under the direct supervision of a dive professional.

Enjoy the natural beauty of an urban reef located in a historic site in the middle of metropolitan San Juan. Dive alongside our guides as we explore a protected bay area, natural and artificial reef formations, ruins of the historic "fish wall", and our version of Atlantis with a collection of small scale replicas Greek and Roman sculptures and columns. Occasionally, you may be able to see our resident green and hawksbill sea turtles, southern stingray and squid!! This 1-Tank Certified Scuba Tour requires a SCUBA certification of Open Water Diver or higher level from a recognized diving organization (PADI, NAUI, SSI). Guests that do not hold any of these certifications can participate in the Discover Scuba Diving excursion. Guests will be required to walk with full SCUBA equipment including tank and weights in and out of the water. Depending on weather and site conditions, guests may encounter limited visibility ranging from 5' to 20'.

Fun, first dive in a couple of years. Dale was nice and helpful (and sarcastic). Saw a sea turtle. Water was warm and enjoyed overall.

The Scuba Dog team is super friendly and professional. I had reserved two days of scuba diving with them and found some issues with the second day's dive. They were very responsive and handled my issue well, changing my tour. Special thanks to Paco. I had three easy, safe, and enjoyable dives with him. Next time I travel to Puerto Rico, I will definitely contact Scuba Dog to have more fun.

I booked this at last minute because I didn’t think I had time to dive, but they went out of their way to make sure I go the dive I was hoping for. Great guide named Davis knows his fish.
Surprisingly Shore-tastic: A Shallow Dive with Deep Rewards

We weren’t exactly thrilled when we realized our dive was a shore dive—those usually rank somewhere between lukewarm coffee and airline food on our excitement scale. But the location was close to the cruise ship pier (less than 15 minutes away), which made it convenient. They even picked us up right at the end of the dock—can't beat that for service. Our dive master, Manola, started things off with a little “prove-you’re-not-a-menace” refresher. Fair enough, though between the four of us we had over 500 dives each, so we passed with flying fins. Depth? Never more than 22 feet. But what it lacked in depth, it made up for in surprises: we saw a turtle, a ray, a pufferfish, and a nice variety of tropical eye candy—all within 100 feet of shore. Manola knew his stuff and pointed out critters like he had them on payroll. We only had time for one dive (thanks, cruise ship schedule), but it lasted over an hour and left us more than satisfied. They had us back at the ship pier well before all aboard. Would we do it again? Absolutely. The only downside? A week later, I was still shaking sand out of my gear from the beach entry—but hey, consider it a souvenir.

Dale was amazing and we had so much fun!! We dove with him multiple times and had a great time each dive. Don’t forget to put your mask on right or you owe him a beer.
