Enjoy this tour to explore the major sights of the historic bay of Navarino, near the town of Pylos. With a landscape of incredible natural beauty, we enjoy clear blue waters, golden sandy beaches where sea turtles return to lay their eggs. You can also see medieval castles standing over historical shipwrecks outlining the rich naval history of the area.

The activity includes a 30 minutes preparation time, 2 to 2.5 hours paddling exploration, 1 to 1.5 hours free time for picnic, relaxation, snorkelling, swimming, diving and other activities.
We recommend you take with you: water, hat, sun cream, towel, swimsuit, extra pair of shoes that will get wet. Suitable shoes are lightweight trainers, flip flops, sandals or sea shoes. Avoid bulky shoes.

Our trip starts at Divari beach. Your guide will brief you on paddling techniques, safety measures, and equipment. Soon we shall hop on our kayaks for a trip around the Navarino bay like never before. We start paddling overlooking the town of Pylos and the Niokastro fort. Heading towards the imposing monolithic islet located at the south side of the bay, we visit the impressive natural stone arch. The islet is also a place of nesting and resting place for many species of birds. Weather permitting, we can circumnavigate it and visit a few of its sea caves, tunnels and arches. Our next stop is the unhabituated island of Sphacteria. Here, we jump out of our kayaks, stretch our legs and walk to the island’s viewpoint for taking pictures of an idyllic landscape and for story-telling. After some kayaking we shall make a stop at a secluded beach for swimming and snorkeling, and why not some cliff diving for those who feel more adventurous. Here we shall also taste our homemade picnic of local delicacies and relax under the sun. After this energy pumped stop, we will paddle back to the starting point to end an amazing day in the tranquility of the Navarino Bay.

5.00What an unforgettable experience! For my birthday we decided to go sea kayaking in the beautiful Navarino Bay, and it was really super nice to do this. The view over the crystal clear water, the tranquility of the surroundings and the feeling of freedom on the water it all added up. What made it extra special was that we had a private guide. He was incredibly friendly, and knew a lot to tell us about the area. As a result, it felt not only like a sporting activity, but also like a cultural exploration. After kayaking we enjoyed a delicious lunch that the guide had brought with him. A perfect break after paddling. Thanks Panos!

5.00The experience was more better than we expected! Is was absolutely fantastic and the best thing that we did with my girlfriend during 15 days holidays in Peloponnisos! Fotis was a great teacher and fantastic company for us! Except the sport experience which we enjoyed, he explained us about the history, he guide us to a fantastic beach for swimming and the picnik was a real greek healthy one on time! Thank you so much!

5.00We had an absolutely amazing experience with Explore Messinia! It was our first time trying kayaking and, to be honest, we weren’t sure if we would enjoy it — but it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The whole activity is totally value for money: we took the time to learn the basics, our guide shared fascinating details about the history and places around us, we enjoyed a lovely picnic, and we discovered some truly beautiful beaches along the way. From the very beginning, our trainer made us feel completely comfortable and safe, which allowed us to relax and enjoy every moment. This is a highly recommended experience, and if we ever find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely book another adventure with them!

5.00We had a truly lovely time on this trip. Fotios was very capable and experienced with the kayaks, one of the best safety and technique briefings I've had. He also knew a huge amount about the local area and history and his enthusiasm shone through to help make this a day to remember. The scenery is truly amazing and paddling across the bay under your own steam is pretty special.

5.00Fotios and Pavlos were two amazing ambassadors of Greek beauty and history. They guided us through a wonderful sea with patience and competence. We really enjoyed sharing a good picnic meal, talking about our experiences in our countries. Oh, and their advice on local food was great too!

5.00We had such a great time on our kayak trip! The experience was well-organized, fun, and truly memorable. Fotios, our guide, shared so many fascinating stories about the area’s history — full of detail, but told in such an easygoing and engaging way that even someone like me, who doesn’t usually enjoy history, was completely drawn in. What made it even more special was how thoughtful Fotios was with the kids. On the way back, he let them help navigate the kayak, which meant the world to them and made the whole trip even more exciting. If you're thinking about trying this experience, I highly recommend this group. It was the perfect mix of nature, storytelling, and fun for all ages!
