Enjoy this tour to explore the major sights of the historic bay of Navarino, near the town of Pylos. With a landscape of incredible natural beauty, we enjoy clear blue waters, golden sandy beaches where sea turtles return to lay their eggs. You can also see medieval castles standing over historical shipwrecks outlining the rich naval history of the area.

The activity includes a 30 minutes preparation time, 2 to 2.5 hours paddling exploration, 1 to 1.5 hours free time for picnic, relaxation, snorkelling, swimming, diving and other activities.
We recommend you take with you: water, hat, sun cream, towel, swimsuit, extra pair of shoes that will get wet. Suitable shoes are lightweight trainers, flip flops, sandals or sea shoes. Avoid bulky shoes.

Meet your guides at Divari Beach, just a few kilometers away from the charming village of Gialova. Your guide will brief you on paddling techniques, safety measures, and equipment. Soon, we shall hop on our kayaks for a sea kayak trip around Navarino Bay like never before. Heading west, we paddle towards the imposing cliffs of Sphacteria Island, a place of nesting and resting for many species of birds that we may witness. Our next stop is the dock of Sphacteria. Here, we jump out of our kayaks, stretch our legs, and walk to the island’s viewpoint to take pictures of an idyllic landscape and for storytelling. Back to our kayaks, heading north to experience the open Ionian Sea for a few minutes and also admire the fort of Paleokastro and its impressive walls and bastions guarding the north entrance of the bay. A few minutes later, we shall make a stop at a secluded beach for swimming and resting. Here we shall also taste our homemade picnic of local delicacies and relax under the sun. After this energy-pumped stop, we will paddle back to the starting point to end an amazing day in the tranquility of Navarino Bay.

5.00We enjoyed our Kayak trip in the bay. The guide was VERY knowledgeable taught us so much about the area. Great equipment and first-class service. They even took photos and emailed to us after the trip. They provided delicious cheese and bread and olive oil to snack on. Thank you for a lovely trip.

5.00Loved the kayaking and the history lesson of the bay we spend the morning on. They take all the photographs so no need to worry about capturing any shots and dropping your camera in the bay. 5.00We had an amazing kayaking trip that included refreshments along the way, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. It truly added something special to our vacation in Greece and became one of the highlights of our stay. The scenery was beautiful, the atmosphere was relaxed and fun, and everything was well organized. Our kids, aged 14 and 17, absolutely loved it as well—they were just as excited as we were. Highly recommended!

5.00Wonderful tour with fantastic guides (Yiannis & Fotis) who gave useful instructions on paddling and knew a great deal about the history of the region. Delightful and lovingly prepared picnic with local products on the beach. It was an unforgettable experience, thank you for everything!

5.00What an unforgettable experience! For my birthday we decided to go sea kayaking in the beautiful Navarino Bay, and it was really super nice to do this. The view over the crystal clear water, the tranquility of the surroundings and the feeling of freedom on the water it all added up. What made it extra special was that we had a private guide. He was incredibly friendly, and knew a lot to tell us about the area. As a result, it felt not only like a sporting activity, but also like a cultural exploration. After kayaking we enjoyed a delicious lunch that the guide had brought with him. A perfect break after paddling. Thanks Panos!

5.00The experience was more better than we expected! Is was absolutely fantastic and the best thing that we did with my girlfriend during 15 days holidays in Peloponnisos! Fotis was a great teacher and fantastic company for us! Except the sport experience which we enjoyed, he explained us about the history, he guide us to a fantastic beach for swimming and the picnik was a real greek healthy one on time! Thank you so much!

5.00We had an absolutely amazing experience with Explore Messinia! It was our first time trying kayaking and, to be honest, we weren’t sure if we would enjoy it — but it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The whole activity is totally value for money: we took the time to learn the basics, our guide shared fascinating details about the history and places around us, we enjoyed a lovely picnic, and we discovered some truly beautiful beaches along the way. From the very beginning, our trainer made us feel completely comfortable and safe, which allowed us to relax and enjoy every moment. This is a highly recommended experience, and if we ever find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely book another adventure with them!
