Some things are worth getting up early for and this is certainly one of them. The wonderful experience of a hot-air balloon ride is enhanced many times over by conducting it over the incredible scenery and wildlife of Serengeti National Park. We fly from June to November in Kogatende. For a lifetime experience such as this, you want to make sure you fly with the best. Since the 1970s, we’ve been crafting exceptional balloon safaris and the memories we create are a combination of our long experience, our attention to detail and our desire to make your flight with us truly extraordinary. Each flight is a different journey dictated by the direction of the wind, where the sights and sounds rise from the ground to meet you. We know where we’ve started but we don’t know where we will return to earth. This is part of the adventure. Sometimes the basket will be gently brushing the tips of the grass and sometimes it will be climbing, climbing through the layers of air until you’re high enough to see the curve of the horizon, painted gold and pink by the early sun. Each flight lasts for approximately 1 hour and we celebrate with a champagne toast before enjoying a sumptuous 'full-english' breakfast under an acacia tree.

Ndutu Lake

We had an amazing experience during this flight. Everything from a till z was perfect organised. And important, the safety instructions serieus and clear explained. After even a breakfast in the bush, which over performance compared home😉. We recommend this organization for 100%. Thanks again Barry the pilot.👍

It was amazing. Capt Jeff Giles gave us a smooth ride ,changing altitudes and seeing animals as far as the eye could see... 1 of 1 experience. Topped off with a picture perfect landing and champagne breakfast. Will definitely do it again...

Absolutely incredible way to spend Thanksgiving. Our pilot, Kevin, was the best… I recommend this activity without hesitation

Our balloon ride was beautiful & fun. Our driver to the balloon (Coolwa - unsure of spelling) was wonderful and kind! However, the landing was extremely rough. We were dragged 10-15 meters, bounced several times, and hit termite mounds. According to Jeff, our pilot, that was a “typical” landing. I hit the back of my head pretty hard & potentially fractured 2 teeth (photos attached). I still have a headache over 24 hrs later. Here’s the thing, I understand landings can be out of their control! My disappointment lies in the fact that not even 1 staff member - specifically not even the pilot, Jeff - asked if we (or anyone else) were okay. Not even the elderly couple next to us who were shaken up were checked on. I was so shaken up, I cried as soon as we got back to the hotel. I would akin the experience to a car accident. It was truly terrifying and no one cared. Most of all, I simply just wish they briefed us on how to handle that type of landing (hold yourself up on the handles to avoid your head hitting when bouncing off the ground) - especially since Jeff made it known multiple times that it was apparently a “normal” landing and that he knew it was going to be rough since it was a windy day. (They almost called the day off due to wind). Other small notes: • lasted 50ish minutes • Jeff felt comfortable to make his political beliefs known - felt odd but okay? In short: if there is little to no wind, I’m sure you’ll have a good time otherwise!

Flying over the Serengeti is the ultimate experience. We were thrilled to have done it with Serengeti Balloon Safari. The team was professional and informed. The trip allowed us to see the animals and landscape in the most beautiful way. I will never forget the peace and tranquility I experienced as we soared over the most exquisite landscape!

We drove with Frank over the Serengeti on October 22, 2025. He made the tour a unique experience. Constantly looking for wild animals (including Lions), his way of moving the balloon is outstanding, he knows a lot and made it possible for us to fly directly over several packs of lions. And this despite the fact that the wind didn't look like it was pushing us in the right direction at first. But Frank still made it. Overall, the design is simply great, from the balloon tour experience (and landing) to the excellent breakfast in the middle of the Serengeti wilderness. I would also like to emphasise that this provider passes on 10% of its proceeds directly to the national park, and so every year beautiful amounts are raised for preservation. We would book a tour again at any time.
