The iconic Globe Theatre is a faithful reconstruction of the open-air playhouse in which Shakespeare worked, and for which he wrote many of his most famous plays! Their expert guide-storytellers provide a fascinating tour of the Globe Theatre auditorium, vividly recreating colourful stories of the 1599 Playhouse, the London Shakespeare would have known and the Globe reconstruction process in the 1990s. Their guides will also bring the theatre to life exploring how the ‘wooden ‘O’ works today as an imaginative and experimental space for performance.

Visitors need to arrive at the Guided Tours Entrance on Bankside opposite the river, where a staff member will greet you
We advise visitors arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure.
Duration of guided tour is 45 minute.
The Globe is a working theatre, tour times vary due to performance schedules or sometimes take place during rehearsals (giving you an exclusive look at the rehearsal process!).
Guided tours take place in all weathers.
There is no dress code, but we recommend visitors wear appropriate clothing and footwear as tours take place outdoors.

5.00We visited the Globe on a Sunday morning in January and the experience was great. The booking process is easy and upon arriving at the site, the staff members were kind to show us where to go. Llyr was our guide who shared with us many interesting details in such a delightful way. I myself used to work as a guide and know what it takes to cheer up a crowd even if it rains. His funny comments made the time fly so fast and we all finished the tour wanting to come back. Definitely recommend taking the guided tour even if you're not a native speaker of English as listening to these guides is a genuine language practice opportunity. Thank you all.

5.00I've taken the Globe tour multiple times now. Besides it being a well organised tour with good audio and great guides this tour is just a highlight. If you are in any way interested in Shakespeare, London or theatre history this is not to miss. I personally also feel like it has a great value when it comes to revisits as every guide has a slightly different focus and vibe so there's always something new to learn.

5.00Our tour guide was called Clive. He was really excellent. He had a great sense of humour and was very informative too. He kept all our attention with his lively information and anecdotes. A one hour Visit, which was really worth the money, thank you Clive for really making this tour so good.

5.00Incredible experience which I would highly recommend. The Globe is an authentic reproduction and the views of stage are good all around.We saw the performance of Pinnochio which was just lovely. The puppetry first class supported by a very talented and endearing cast.It is an outdoor theatre so it was cold (we went early January) however as long as you prepare we didn't notice the cold. We took some fleece blankets and rented a cushion from the theatre. However blankets and other items are available for hire to make your visit more comfortable.

5.00Excellent tour with guide Michael. A great wealth of knowledge and clear love of his job and the Globe. 50min tour of the building. Well worth the £23. Highly recommended. I'll definitely be back for show tickets on my next trip. A few stairs to climb but guide checked all capable and offered assistance where/if required. Clear language for those not native English speakers.

I would thoroughly recommend going and taking the tour. Thanks to the Rob and Romesh show for igniting an interest in the location, not sure without seeing that we would have thought to visit. Great experience.

5.00I absolutely loved our “Nasty, judgemental Guide and his humor and vitty educational guidance. I wish I remembered his name, he even spelled it for us but I didnt catch it so…sorry 😅 awesome experience, very much recommend
