Enjoy short get away from Shanghai city to beautiful Zhujiajiao Water Town where you can explore the classic Chinese buildings and to take a relax boat ride along the water canals. This half-day private tour can be started either in the morning or afternoon, and all entrance fee, private guide and transfer service are inclusive. You also can upgrade your tour with lunch or dinner to experience the local cuisine upon booking.

Zhujiajiao Ancient Town
Meet up your friendly private guide at your hotel lobby in the morning or afternoon based on your preferred schedule. Transferred by comfortable vehicle to Zhujiajiao, a water town on the outskirts of Shanghai, and was established about 1,700 years ago. Upon arrival, stroll along the old street and traditional market where you will find many interesting vendors and local specialties. You will also find the best known bridges, built during Ming and Qing Dynasties. Take a relaxing boat ride in the water canals, and your friendly private guide will share with you the history and story of the area. After the tour, your guide will send you back to the hotel in Shanghai city.

5.00Great and easy tour to hit up all the main spots. We even got to do some souvenir shopping at an old apothecary and exploring hidden alleys. Our guide was knowledgable and we learned so much. Plus she was great with my 8 year old!

5.00I just like to say my tour guide & driver was amazing. A big shout out to Caroline. She made me feel comfortable & went that extra mile. I learned a lot of history & knowledge about the gardens. Her explanations of the temple and its history were engaging and insightful, making the experience even more meaningful. Overall, she was an absolute delight and truly elevated our tour. 5.00We had a great time at the water town. It was very beautiful with historic alley ways and peaceful gardens and temples. Our guide Carole was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, taking good care of us. The drive took just over an hour from our hotel and was very smooth. They even dropped us off in a different location that we wanted to visit after the water town. Certainly worth seeing a nice break from the big city.

5.00Snow was our tour guide. She was amazing. Very knowledgeable and patient. Really cared about the tour to ensure got as much of the day as possible. Very easy to book and the admin team kept in contact with updates prior to the tour. Would recommend this tour company and Snow in particular. She made the day!

We learned not only about China's and Shanghai's history but also about the changes that the Chinese society and lives of Shanghainese had undergone in recent history. We really enjoyed our tour with him.

5.00The highlight of my trip to China! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I cannot recommend Caroline enough! She made my trip to Zhujiajiao Water Town absolutely unforgettable. From start to finish, her knowledge was exceptional, she provided fascinating historical and cultural insights that brought the town to life. Beyond her expertise, she was incredibly accommodating and one of the friendliest guides I’ve ever met. It truly was my best experience in China so far! I also have to give a shout-out to the driver, who was equally fantastic. He was very friendly, professional, and the car was spotless and extremely comfortable.
