Enjoy short get away from Shanghai city to beautiful Zhujiajiao Water Town where you can explore the classic Chinese buildings and to take a relax boat ride along the water canals. This half-day private tour can be started either in the morning or afternoon, and all entrance fee, private guide and transfer service are inclusive. You also can upgrade your tour with lunch or dinner to experience the local cuisine upon booking.

Zhujiajiao Ancient Town
Meet up your friendly private guide at your hotel lobby in the morning or afternoon based on your preferred schedule. Transferred by comfortable vehicle to Zhujiajiao, a water town on the outskirts of Shanghai, and was established about 1,700 years ago. Upon arrival, stroll along the old street and traditional market where you will find many interesting vendors and local specialties. You will also find the best known bridges, built during Ming and Qing Dynasties. Take a relaxing boat ride in the water canals, and your friendly private guide will share with you the history and story of the area. After the tour, your guide will send you back to the hotel in Shanghai city.

5.00Beautiful day! We had perfect weather and started the day exploring the gardens and then enjoyed a peaceful stroll along the waterways into the village. Jenny was knowledgeable about the history and also helped me find some handmade gifts. We enjoyed the pretty gondola ride and had a delicious lunch. A wonderful tour with a great guide - highly recommend!

5.00Our guide Snow spoke excellent English and was extremely engaging. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The visit around the gorgeous water village was one of our best days. Approx 8am to 4pm was jugs right and allowed us to have time in Shanghai on return.

5.00Our guide was Kalvin, he was truly great - very knowledgeable and friendly! Overall the tour is well organised. Tasty lunch at one specific restaurant was included. The water town is beautiful but the feel is incredibly touristy (and it’s packed). Most of it is basically going through little streets where locals are selling souvenirs and food to you.

5.00The tour company arrived on time in a van big enough for our group of six and we had a great tour with Jenny. She told us about the history of Zhujiajiao as we walked around the city. We had a great time sampling food and tea from shops, souvenir shopping, and we enjoyed the local lunch and boat ride. I would recommend this tour and Jenny as a tour guide. She took care of all the tickets and details and we had a lot of fun.

5.00We had an amazing day on our Zhujiajiao water town tour, Our guide Judy was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful throughout our tour and Mr Chung was an excellent driver! We took our toddler on the tour and Judy made sure he was entertained throughout the day and also made sure we got a meal for him that suited his allergies. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for a lovely day out in Shanghai. Thank you all for a wonderful and very memorable day 🙂

5.00We had a wonderful day in Zhujiajiao with our guide Caroline. She is extremely knowledgeable and explained the history and culture of the water town in perfect English, always with a great sense of humor. Caroline was very attentive and thoughtful throughout the tour – she always checked on our comfort, helped us take photos, and gave us useful local tips. Zhujiajiao itself is beautiful, and the boat ride along the canals was a very special experience. Overall, it was a perfect day and we feel very lucky to have had Caroline as our guide. Highly recommended! 🌟
