Punta Tombo

We start the tour with an approximate trip of 2 hours to Punta Tombo. At the first stop we will be able to observe the replica of the largest dinosaur in the world found in our province (15 minutes). We will continue our itinerary until we arrive at the most important penguin colony in the American continent. (30 minutes approx). Finally we will visit the Punto Tombo Penguin Colony (2 hours approx) In the area you can see Magellanic penguins and we can also see guanacos, piches, maras and other species

We love the tour, even the trip took almost 2 hours each way, our guide Pudo was very informative and he is very knowledgeable about the history of Argentina. When we arrived in Punta Tombo, it was amazing, we saw so many penguins in their natural habitat. It was unforgettable trip of life time.

Our trip to Punto Tombo was one of the highlights of our trip so far. Hundreds of Magellanic penguins from adults to relatively young birds were literally metres from our viewing options. Our guide, Hugo, was both interesting and knowledgeable and shared his experience of living in Patagonia as well as his extensive knowledge of the wildlife. He made sure our trip got back to our ship in good time. I can recommend Animal Travel Puerto Madryn to any traveller.

It was lovely, left the ship and a small group of us did this excursion through viatour, we beat the large buses from the trip to the penguins and got a quieter experience there. Guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out additional wildlife.

A long day trip from Puerta Madryn but a very interesting experience to see the enormous penguin colony at Punta Tombo. Guanacos were also plentiful in the area.

Great Guide Marianne, during the 2 hour bus drive told us all about the history of the area, and the animals we would see during our visit to punta tombo We saw a lot of pinguïns at punta tombo

Punta Tombo was great. Seeing so many warm weather penguins in 1 spot was fascinating. There was a bit of pressure to get off the ship in a timely manner, but as it turns out, it was manageable. Our guide was great. (?Mariana?) she gave a lot of information about the area as we were on our way to see the penguins

Good communication on booking, easy meeting place right off the pier and good tour guide highlighted our experience. A nearly 3 hour journey from ship to Punta Tombo, but our tour guide was informative throughout the journey. Once arrived, we had ample time to explore the penguin colony. It was a very enjoyable experience and much less expensive than the ship provided options.

It was a good tour but we didn’t get enough time with the penguins. We needed about 1/2 hour more. But we did have to wait for people that can’t tell time, which is frustrating for all the other people on the bus. Many on our bus didn’t make it to the end of the boardwalk, even not stopping to see the penguins on the way to the end of it. It is a long way to the park. Our tour guide was awesome and very knowledgeable about everything.

It’s a long bus ride, 2 1/2 hrs, but definitely worth it! There were thousands of penguins, and as they waddle across the paths (they have the “right of way”) you’re only steps away from them.

2.5 hr drive each way. Up close to penguins. Walk all the way to the end with minimal stoppage, then leisurely walk back and take pics to make sure you have time
