You will depart early morning from Gondar to Debark. In debark you will arrange your visit with the park office and receive a scout and guide then drive into the park to arrive at Sankaber. You can either drive all the way in to Sankaber or have the car drop you off near Buyit Ras for a short hike. If you choose to hike in you will take in beautiful views of the landscape and the endless mountain ridges, and you likely see some gelada baboons. When you arrive in Sankaber you will be met with your supplies. Sankaber will be the first campsite on your trip.
Sankaber to Geech Camp
From Sankaber you will begin hiking following the ridge and look out over the foothills 800m down. From the ridge you will descend down into the valley and be able to view the Jinbar River plunging into the Geech Abyss. After some time at the waterfall you will continue on to Geech village where you will find your second campsite.
Geech to Imet Gogo to Siha Gorge to Keda Dit to Geech

After breakfast at geech campsite you will hike through the grass plateau that are home to the, appropriately titled, Giant Lobelia plants. After about 2 hours you will reach Imet Gogo which is an amazing 360 degree view of the Simien Mountains. Here you will have reached an altitude of 3,926m and be able to look out at the amazing landscape from 360 degrees. At this height and view point you can see the canyon below, distant ridges, and view the seemingly never ending valleys. From here you will return to Geech, but first you will pass through Siha Gorge for a lunch break. When you arrive back at Geech you will have time to relax from the hike. Before nightfall you will have the option of taking a short sunset hike to Keda Dit. You will spend the night back at Geech.

5.00Excellent trip with Dezy and his team! If ever there was a company that goes the extra mile, it is Simien Mountains Trekking Adventure. Every small detail was planned to perfection and even when flights were cancelled (not to their fault), they went the extra mile to keep us going. I would fully recommend making use of them - communication is excellent!

5.00My husband and I booked an individual 6 day hike in the Simien mountains through Dezy and we LOVED the experience! For a reasonable price, they met us at the airport in Gondar, and for six days of hiking, provided delicious meals, tents, sleeping bags, blankets, water. We were led on our hike by an expert, English-speaking guide, a scout, a porter, and a cook. (Btw, the food was absolutely delicious and since one of us is a vegetarian, they prepared tasty vegetarian dishes as well as a few meat dishes for the carnivore.) All we had to do was show up with our clothes and hiking shoes, hike with a daypack (and the lunch prepared for us), and enjoy the experience. When we finished the day's hiking, our tent was set up in that day's campground and a table and chairs were ready for our afternoon tea and snack. You rough it a little, since there are no showers, but this is truly comfortable back-country hiking with great food. The team Dezy got together for us did all the set up at our campsites -- hiking without headaches! The Simien mountains are a natural treasure and it was great to be led by locals who know the area, its people, the wildlife, and the landscape through and through. The guide explained what we were seeing as we hiked along and gave us insight into the natural environment, history, and local culture. They were supportive and positive throughout and so encouraging that these two (very fit, but still) senior citizens made it to the top of Ras Dashen mountains. Lastly, the team is made up of locals, so you are providing financial support (and jobs) for the communities in and around the Simien Mountains Park. The service was reliable, courteous and friendly, and high-quality. Thank you! (Amasa ganarla!) 5.00We booked a trek with Simien Mountains Trekking and Tours / Dezy for 6 days in the Simien mountains and we can highly recommend it! It was all well organized. The pick-up was punctual, the guide Fenta was nice and knew a lot to tell about the landscape, flora and fauna. The equipment was good and the food delicious. Our crew did a great job and we were totally satisfied with our trek!

5.00We had an amazing adventure in the Simien mountains and Lalibela thanks to Dezy. Our trek was set up perfectly: all of our transport was orderly and on time, our guide and his staff were excellent and made our 5 days very comfortable, and the scenery/wildlife made it all worth it! We were met at the airport by a driver arranged with Dezy, and after that everything was taken care of! Dezy set us up in some wonderful hotels in Gondar and Lalibela, which was perfect for relaxation after the trek. All said, I would definitely recommend using Dezy’s service for your Ethiopian adventure; he works very hard to please and to make the best of your trip

5.00We spent a few days in Simien, and Dezi alongside his team did a fantastic job. They met us at the airport, took us to the mountains, guided the hike, brought tents, and cooked really good food!

5.00Simien Mountains Trekking and Tours / Dezy organized a 4 day hike in the Simien mountains for us together with 3 other guests and we can highly recommend it. The pick-up was punctual, we had a nice and knowledgeable guide and the equipment was good. We enjoyed the hike, the nature impressions and also the food! Our trip was in November 2017.
