Enjoy the classic Skagway tour!
Our tour will take you down Broadway, Skagway's historic main street, and we'll point out various points of interest and photo stops. As we leave Skagway, we'll climb over 3,500 feet in elevation up to the summit, where Gold Rushers had to hand-carry all their gear on their way into Canada - except you'll do it from a heated bus.
Our tour will pick up all guests and get you back in time for your ship.

Our tour will have 5 to 6 photo stops along the route and we will slow down for the others. Time at stops may vary and are weather dependent. Tour is 2.5 hours in length.

Skagway is a typical small town on the Inside Passage. You must get outa town to really see the region.

5.00Skagway is situated along the “Inside Passage” in S.E. Alaska. It contains historical buildings from the “Klondike Goldrush” days. We took a day trip on the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad which took us from town up into the mountains toward the Yukon Territory in Canada. This forty-mile three-hour trip presented beautiful scenery to us along the way. The Number 73 steam engine has been overhauled and back “on-line.” It pulls some of the thirty refurbished railroad cars. We rode on the “Lake McConnell.” It was exciting to hear the clickety clack of the cars riding over the 125 year old railroad route. Back in town, we downed a few at the “Red Onion Saloon.” I had a plate called the Shady Lady. It contained chicken and onions in BBQ sauce with cheddar cheese. Arlee was less adventurous and ordered a “Trollop,” a turkey sandwich with Havarti cheese and mayo. It was topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and sliced onions with a side of chips and homemade coleslaw. It was a fun day.

5.00Did the bus vs the rail tour and highly recommend. The countryside was beautiful, and the tour went to the same places as the train, for half the price.

5.00We had the absolute best time on this tour and our guide Will was the absolute best! What an honor to be part of his final tour group of the 2025 season. We did White Pass Railway in the morning and then opted for this tour in the afternoon because we had a feeling we’d get to see and explore so much more and BOY, we were right! The stop-and-go style of this tour was perfect for sightseeing and photos ops. Will was a great driver, had a great personality, was very informative and took great photos for us! As expected, the foliage was gorgeous for mid-October and the temps were perfect (not that it mattered too much because the bus was a perfect temperature.) We also got very lucky that the fog lifted just as we arrived at the Welcome to Alaska sign… and the fog returned just as we were leaving. 10/10 - I’d recommend to anyone visiting Skagway for the first time.

5.00This tour was so great! Our driver Will was so funny, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. We had so much fun on the bus ride and loved all the stops we made. Skagway was our favorite city and this was our favorite tour! I highly recommend it.

5.00The tour guide was easy to find when we got off the cruise ship. We were glad we chose this instead of the train. The photo stops were so beautiful. Also getting to take our photo with the welcome to Alaska sign was a big bonus. We have visited all 49 states and Alaska was our last to get to. Connor was a great tour guide.
