5.00Another excellent trip. The guide / driver was knowledgeable & skilled. The experience itself was brilliant, thou the English translation for me was a little late. The mines were spectacular, the unground lake for me being the highlight. Only problem being photos were not allowed (even thou several people took them). Even got a uniform which fitted, which made a nice change

5.00We were not sure what to expect from this tour, but it turned out to be fascinating. Our tour guide Alenka (sp?) was the best we've had of our four recent Viator tours. She was understandable and gave many historical insights about the area. Our bus had another tour group who were going to Eagle's Nest after we were dropped off at the Salt Mines. Alenka gave a background on Eagle's Nest and Hitler's use of it. We almost had second thoughts about not going on that tour instead of the salt mines. Once the mine tour began, though, we found it fascinating. It is appropriate for all ages, and children would love the mine train ride and the slides (although it was fun for us as well). As it turned out, the weather spoiled views for the Eagle's Nest group, so we were fortunate. The final stop at Berchtesgaden for of an hour of free time was great. And the scenery of the Bavarian Alps was spectacular. We thought it was a great tour!
