Hofburg tickets (Sisi Museum & Imperial Apartments) include timed entry to skip the ticket line.
The corridors in the Sisi Museum are narrow, crowded and loud, so you will need to stay close to the guide.
2025: Sisi Museum is under renovation, so access to certain rooms and exhibitions is restricted.
Free entry to courtyards, Heldenplatz & Burggarten.
The gardens are not green or lit in winter—book a morning tour or visit in spring, summer or autumn. For guest safety, if the weather is bad (e.g. snowy day), we will offer an alternative route. From 08.11 to 31.12, you will have a chance to visit a local Christmas Market instead.

Don’t Pass Up Learning About Empress Sissy and the Royal Palace

5.00This tour is outstanding. traveling through the many rooms of the palace and hearing the stories of Sissy and Franz, as well as the family and staff, allow you to experience the time period of this family. Additional tours of the courtyard square and the surrounding area just add to the excellent tour. Be sure you have comfortable shoes as this is a long tour but with every bit of the walking and standing. Our tour guide, Mario, did an excellent job. Not only did he know the history and facts of the palace but he personalize it with references and comparisons for the group. He was articulate and personable. I highly recommend this tour for anyone that wants to know more about Franz and Sissy, the family and the Royal Palace. I also recommend that those considering this tour watch the Netflix show ‘Empress Sissy’ before taking the tour. Not a necessity but it helps visualizing the palace and the characters. Even without this, you’ll learn SO much about the people, palace and time period. Thank you Mario, great job!!!

5.00This was a very in-depth tour of the Hofburg's palace and the Sisi museum. Full disclosure, I am not sure why everyone is obsessed with Sisi, but for those who are interested in her, this is a good tour for it. It also gives you a good tour around the palace, into the gardens and points out the museums nearby. All of this is excellent. Our guide was...fine. He wasn't so much to my taste as he rambled a bit and put in his own opinions a bit. But again, your tastes may vary. So I give this 5 stars for the location, with these caveats established.

5.00Mario was very knowledgeable and really brought the history of the Hapsburg dynasty to life. He also had some helpful suggestions for places to get a snack and other activities in Vienna. Very worthwhile activity!
