Rainforest Adventures St Maarten - Rockland Estate
As an adventure-seeker you will simply love this new thrill ride that takes you on the Sky Explorer with the landscape unfolding below to the top of St. Maarten’s highest mountain. Then you’ll go flying back down on the world’s steepest zip line. Embark the Sky Explorer for the approximately 25-minute ride to the top of Sentry Hill, St. Maarten’s highest elevation at 1,125 feet. A series of platforms encircle the mountaintop showcasing 360-degree views of the whole island including vistas of neighboring islands Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Barts and Anguilla. A brief orientation will prepare you to fly down the mountain at speeds of up to 56 miles per hour on the world’s steepest zip line, The Flying Dutchman. You’ll be attached to a flight line in a secure harnessed chair, launching you on the 1050-foot drop in elevation over 2800 feet to experience the ride of a lifetime.

5.00This was incredible! I am terrified of heights but managed to calm down enough to experience this. The operator was encouraging when he could see I was scared and encouraged me that the ride was safe and to close my eyes for a second but then open to see how beautiful it was. He was the only reason I calmed down; not sure what his name was but a great worker! I loved the experience and would do it again in a heartbeat!

5.00While in Saint Martin, my sisters and I visited the Rainforest Adventures park! Although we didn’t try the slide, we did do the gondola and we did do the flying Dutchman! The gondola was perfect for younger children and adults that did not want to do the flying Dutchman or the zip lining. If you’re a thrill seeker the flying Dutchman is definitely the way to go.. It was exhilarating and amazing.! I would do it again anytime.

5.00We had a reservation for 11:00 am, thinking i would get ahead of all the cruise ship folks - WRONG! I was right in the middle of all the chaos i was trying to avoid. It was a great experience but i would recommend reserving a later time so that all the cruise ship buses are gone when you go. I would recommend reserving 1:00 pm or after. The zipline was awesome & they’ll let you ride the chairlift as many times as you want - but you can only zip once. In all, a good experience - would recommend!

3.00I went on a Virgin voyages excursion to the Flying Dutchman. It started with us being told we’d carry all our bags with us on the zip lines..we had bigger bags. I requested storage and was instructed to go to gift shop. Shammy, was extremely rude and not helpful. I had to find someone else for assistance. After the zip line, my photos I purchased were not of me but someone else. They state, “photos purchased” but it is only one photo which is unclear until after you purchase. I had to go back and tell Shammy in the gift shop of my situation and again she was extremely rude and inconsiderate. Thankfully Danna was there and was SO kind and helpful. She was amazing!!!! She helped with my situation and so kind. Please recognize her for her great work. Shammy needs to be talked to about customer service as cruise shippers care a great deal about this and won’t recommend these excursions to their friends and networks. I will not be recommending this excursion after the experience with Shammy.

5.00We had read that there could be very long queues. We arrived at 10am (for entry at 11am) and understood that the complex opens 8am for cruise passengers. So your waiting time will depend on the number of cruise ships. We were able to enter from 10:30 but were not able to get on the chairlift until 10:50. The climb lasts +/- 20-25 mîn but the scenery is beautiful. I advise taking the combo; Sentry Hill & Flying Dutchman Zipline Adventure. The Sentry Hill prepares you for the very big descent ( Flying Dutchman ). These are 4 zip lines with breathtaking scenery. The Flying Dutchman really freaks out but once launched, the fears disappear because you feel very well harnessed.

3.00Make sure you have you waiver filled out. The facility's were clean and staff pleasant. For the time there the 300 dollars was a bit much. But the island is very touristy

1.00Great view! The staff are very unorganized and extremely pushy for tips even saying you need to tip despite telling him we had already tipped at the top! Very unappealing to be pestered for tips when admission is already expensive!

5.00Wow what a great experience. Enjoyed the 25 minute chairlift to the top. The 360 degree views from the top were incredible - saw 3-4 surrounding islands, and pretty much all of Sint Maarten. Not a big fan of heights, but the one minute zip line ride down was controlled and completely safe and secure. Recommended for all. There is a weight requirement -greater than 80 lbs. A bit pricey, but the views and ride were worth it.
Not worth the mo ey for such a long wait. Took up most of my day in port by

3.00The actual zip line was Cool as was the trip up on ski lift chairs. But the wait at the top to go down ? It was unacceptable. Over two and a half for some 1.75 for me. Someone said they had a TV interview or radio interview or something of the sort like that and that’s why they got backed up. But this was a busy day with two large cruise ships in Port. I’m not sure why they would allow that to happen so this is completely on the operator Management for allowing such a thing to happen in the middle of a busy season.
Exciting Zipline Is A Must Do On The Island.
