Our Skye Explorer Tour is perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in the island’s breathtaking landscapes. You’ll enjoy four unforgettable hikes: the dramatic Cuillin Mountains, the enchanting Fairy Glen, the iconic Old Man of Storr, and the awe-inspiring Quiraing. Along the way, we’ll pause for lunch in the charming village of Portree and stop for photos at the legendary Eilean Donan Castle.
Our experienced local tour guide, who is also an experienced hiking guide, will keep you entertained and offer expert advice throughout the day.

Loch Ness
Leaving Inverness behind, we follow the mysterious shores of Loch Ness — so keep your eyes peeled, you never know when Nessie might make an appearance! As the road winds between rugged hills, past shadowy lochans and across wild, windswept glens, your guide will bring the landscape to life with tales of tragedy, resilience, and rebellion. You’ll discover how centuries of turbulent history shaped not just the people of the Highlands, but also the hauntingly beautiful, empty landscapes spread out before you today. After passing the 5 Sisters of Kintail we will soon see Loch Duich which welcomes us, after 2 hours driving, to Scotland’s wonderful west coast.
Eilean Donan Castle
We’ll stop at one of the world’s most photographed castles — the iconic Eilean Donan. You’ll recognise it from films like Highlander and even James Bond, yet nothing compares to seeing its fairytale silhouette in person. We’ll pause for around 10 minutes at the classic viewpoint to soak up the romance (and, of course, snap that all-important photo!). From here, it’s just a short drive to the Skye Bridge. Please note that we don’t have time to go inside the castle.

5.00This tour with our "fabulous" tour guide Murdoch was great. He is likable and knows quite a bit about the history of Scotland. I absolutely recommend Wow Tours.

5.00If you only have one day on the Isle of Skye, love hiking, and want to see absolutely EVERYTHING humanly possible, this is the tour for you. Our guide, Murdoch (aka Mr. Fabulous), somehow managed to be part historian, part storyteller, part mountain goat, and part stand-up comedian. We got the entire Jacobite history, Scottish folklore, local stories, and several Murdoch originals. We took advantage of every chance to get out and walk the Highlands, including making it all the way up to the Old Man of Storr. The scenery was so beautiful. We also stopped in Portree, which looked like someone designed a postcard and then turned it into a real town. Quaint little shops everywhere, excellent coffee and cute local stores. On the return trip we dipped our faces in the Fairy Pools for seven seconds to guarantee eternal youth. 10/10. Incredible views, fantastic hiking, rich history, and excellent storytelling.

5.00This was a great tour, with a chance to walk in and appreciate some of Skye's remarkable landscapes - otherwise difficult to do without your own transport. We had mixed weather (no surprise in the Highlands) which meant adapting plans a bit, but it was still a very enjoyable outing. Our guide Murdoch was outstanding - knowledgeable, helpful and a really talented storyteller who kept us informed and entertained from start to finish - he helped to make this a truly memorable day.

5.00The guide Murdoch, also known as Mr. Fabolous, ask us if there is something in the tour that is missing, or can be improved. Well, I can't answer to that question, because the tour was far beyond my best expectations. Perfectly conceived, this one day tour of the Skye Island is a constant wonder. 13 hours fly by in the blink of an eye, and every moment is unique and precious. It's not just a tour for tourists; it's an experience organized and led by someone who loves the places they're taking you to and loves to share all the fantastic vibes these places exude with others. Murdoch (Mr. Fabolous) is an incredibly talented storyteller. I found myself listening to his stories like a child, with wide open eyes. I really appreciate all the tour formula, with the right amount of time to spend independently, so that everyone can move according to their own times and needs, but always well advised and directed. I felt like I wasn't on a guided tour, but with a Scottish friend, passionate about his country's history, who showed me all the things he loves about Scotland. All this was enriched by a good dose of hilarious anecdotes. Wonderful experience that I will remember forever.

4.00We loved it! We want to highlight Mordo who was our guide, super passionate and knew a lot, we learned a lot, English is perfect. The only thing I have to “criticize” is that the stop in Slichagan is actually in the end for less time and no hike is made there, but we understand that the itinerary can change for exceptional reasons so we are flexible; then the sound for the back seats would go up a bit, sometimes with the noise inside the combi and the outside, it was heard low. Keep in mind that Old Mann of storr is more complicated than it looks and one has to do it fast because if you don't get there. Taking this out, we loved the tour and would book again with Wow Scotland without hesitation!

5.00We went on the Skye Explorer Hiking tour and it was great. Our guide Murdoch is a great story teller, we learnt a lot about the landscape, history and other fantastic stories. Skye has a beautiful landscape and we got the chance to have a few nice hikes. We were lucky with the weather, too. It was really wel organised and with the right amount of (sanitary, food) stops as well. All in all it was a full day very well spent!

5.00Run to book this tour!! Our time on the Wow Scotland tour couldn’t have been better. We went on the skye explorer tour and this was the only one I found like it’s kind. I really wanted to hike places like The Old Man of Storr and the Fairy Glen and the Quiraing and not just take photos and this was the only tour I found that offered all of that. And I’m seriously so glad we booked with them! The views were fantastic! I had never been to Scotland before and now I feel like I’m taking a piece of it home with me. Each place we stopped at I found myself thinking, “this is incredible.” … “no, this is more incredible.” … “No, this is the most incredible.” Needless to say it was a gorgeous trip. And then there was our tour guide and driver, Murdoch. Yes, he needs his own paragraph because he was THAT good! He regaled us with fascinating Scottish lore, history, stories and facts throughout the drive. He is a fantastic and skilled storyteller and some of his stories seriously had me on the edge of my seat. He was extremely knowledgeable and happily answered any questions we had. You can tell he loves this land and that enthusiasm gave an extra boost to an already amazing tour. The tour also has an option where you can get a lunch at Isle of Skye Bakery from Lisa. It was delicious! Lisa’s food was great and her scones were so yummy! You can tell she put care into every meal she put together and it was bagged up nicely! So, if you’re looking for an unforgettable experience that will give you the best of memories for years to come, book with Wow Scotland!! Absolutely worth it!!

5.00One of the best tours I've ever taken. I really appreciated being taken to different spots and doing activities like trekking, where you can truly appreciate the beauty of the Isle of Skye even more. Our guide, Murdoch, told us many interesting and funny stories and managed to create a friendly and pleasant atmosphere.Totally recommended!!!

5.00We had such an incredible day! Murdoch told wonderful stories on the bus ride and made it really fun. There was time for us to explore each stop on our own and we truly couldn’t have had a more wonderful day. Unfortunately, Old Man of Storr was closed for movie filming about halfway up which was a bummer, but Murdoch more than made it up to us by stopping at some fairy pools on the way home as well as a closer look at Eileen Donan castle. We couldn’t recommend it enough.
