Meeting point: In front of Biblioteca Județeană "George Barițiu", Bulevardul Eroilor 33-35. Please be aware that we provide pick-up and drop-off services exclusively within the city of Brașov, as well as for guests staying outside the old town. The pick-up time will vary based on the location requested. Additionally, we are happy to drop off guests at a different location than the pick-up point for an additional fee.

Seven Ladders Canyon

We start the tour from Brasov (we pick you up from your location), head to the Seven Ladders Canyon (Canionul Sapte Scari) in the Piatra Mare range, part of the Southern Carpathian Mountains. This stunning gorge is famed for its steep ladders that take you up the rock walls past a series of rushing waterfalls. On arrival, set off along meadow and forest paths, reaching the canyon after a 45-minute hike. Then, opt to rest here or enter the rock chasm with your experienced guide. Head inside, and spend the next 15 minutes or so crossing the bridges and climbing each of the near-vertical metal ladders that make up the gorge. As you go, enjoy thrilling close-up views of the tumbling waters and the towering rock walls around you. After your trek, rejoin your group and choose between a 1.5-hour return route or a harder 2 to 3 hour trail, walking back through forests and glades to your vehicle. After your hike, your tour ends back at your Brașov hotel.

I had a great morning with Alex and Dan on this short hike along the seven ladders canyon. We had a small group of 4 and could take breaks as necessary. Remember to bring cash for the admission to the actual canyon itself (25 RON at the time of writing). Pickup from the hotel was prompt and communication was good via WhatsApp! Would absolutely do another hike with them in future when I visit Transylvania again.

Did the 7 ladders canyon trip on Wednesday. The guide Tiberiu was absolutely fantastic. The whole trip was amazing and Tiberiu looked after the group expertly. The actual hike through the canyon is amazing and there was nothing that could have been done to make the experience any better. Would highly recommend.

Dan was a great guide, easy to get along with and able to answer all the questions, despite us getting rained on for most of the walk. The canyon itself and the walk in is lovely - don't forget some cash for the canyon entry fee (20 Lei pp when I went)

Can be strenuous and challenging but you will have an option to choose from different trails:shorter or longer. If you are fit and regular hiker you will enjoy it a lot, beautiful scenery. Local guide is very knowledgeable.

It’s a very short drive from Brasov, cute walk but definitely you can explore further in the park! May be strenuous for those unfit, but this of course applies to most physical activities, especially ones necessitating the range of motion for ladder climbing. No knee injuries :)
A very interesting and informative visit to a very beautiful and welcoming country.

the tour is a friendly easy pace through beautiful country and an awesome canyon the tour guide Alex was brilliant easy going and happily chatted with our small group and taking us at our pace, we were picked up on time and never in a rush highly recommend it

Had a great trip to the canyon with Alex as the guide. He was friendly and knowledgeable, making the experience enjoyable. The walk was mostly relaxed, though there were some steep sections, especially on the way down. I'd recommend wearing boots or proper walking shoes.

We were picked up in time by our fantastic Guide Alex. He speaks good English and chats with everyone. Also with our (adolescent) children. The gap itself is superb. You walk in a fantastic environment along waterfalls and over bridges. Put on good shoes, they can get a little wet. We were glad to be on time in the morning. It was still quiet and we were able to take beautiful pictures. When we returned it was already a lot busier. This tour with Active Travel is highly recommended.
