5.00Stefan was an excellent driver for the long trip. We stopped halfway each direction to stretch. Good variety of winery experiences. Our favorite was Iron Gate.

1.00We recently went on this wine tour and I have to say, I am pretty disappointed. My husband and I were looking for a nice tour of Hunter Valley, being able to taste good wines and learn about the region. Unfortunately, it was not pleasant. We ended up being in a group of 22. Of these 22 people, 17 were students from a university. The trip ended up being like a “party bus” or “college party.” The bus ride was extremely loud with music and the young kids standing/dancing. My Apple Watch even gave me warnings of the loudness of the environment while on the bus. At the wineries, the kids were talking over the wine pourer. We were unable to learn about the wines and the regions because of the way the others were acting. It was quite embarrassing to be apart of. The tour driver was a super nice guy and did a good job getting us around. It’s just unfortunate the company made the decision they did for putting people who want to enjoy wine with the group that went. If you are looking for a tour where it’s low key, you learn about the wine, and nice/relaxing day, do not do this tour.

2.00Shuttle bus was horribly uncomfortable. Seats were narrow and hard as rock. I am a small person (5’4”) and could barely fit in the seat, which made my 6’2” husband miserable. Guide said almost nothing along the way so we’re were given no history of the area. First tasting was wine and chocolate. Would be nice to Have this last after lunch. Last tasting followed lunch so most people were too full To enjoy the wine and cheeses. Tastings felt rushed.

5.00Well organised day with great stops - not rushed. Hunter Valley is a drive to get to, but well worth it. Highly recommend the tour.
