During the early days of the Cold War and the Kennedy era, the Georgetown neighborhood was the center of Western power. Men made most of the policy, but women also made history. On this tour, you will learn about the fascinating lives of several women who learned how to make their mark in a man's world in politics, journalism, and spycraft, all while walking through one of DC's most picturesque neighborhoods! Tour is approximately two hours.

5.00The tour was fun, informative, and extremely interesting. Katie Kirkpatrick has a wealth of knowledge stored in her head and uses it in a very entertaining way. I would do another tour with Off The Mall, and I definitely recommend it to others!

5.00Katy is very knowledgeable and puts her academic history background to good use. We are locals looking to deepen our appreciation for DC. The tour was fun and connected us to the rich history of Georgetown. Put on your walking shoes and go for it.

5.00Katie Kirkpatrick is a superb tour guide. She provides well-researched information, addresses in detail the physical presence in Georgetown of the subjects she covers -such as the houses they lived at, shows pictures of them and sets the time and historical events of the period in which they lived. Katie is very knowledgeable, personable, welcoming, and inclusive. She also dresses according to the historical period she is covering, and the subject of her tour. She makes the tour to be not only informative, but also very enjoyable. She is the best tour guide we have had in our many travels.

5.00My friend and I really enjoyed Katie's tour. She shared many inside stories regarding powerful DC ladies and the men in their lives. It was great to walk around Georgetown on a pleasant Fall afternoon and see the homes where they lived, including those of JFK and Jackie. Katie has a fun way of sharing history -- we learned a lot and loved her tour.
