Prices do not include fuel, captain’s gratuity or customs fees if you’re traveling to the British Virgin Islands. Please remember to tip your captains: island-norm is 15-20% of the cost of your boat trip.

All passengers entering the British Virgin Islands are required to pay a $65 customs fee and it must be paid in cash. This is collected upon boarding the boat, so please make sure to remember this. If you are travelling to the British Virgin Islands National Park (The Indians, Caves, The Baths), there is an additional $6/pp charge.

All of our charters are private and custom so it would just be your group with our captain for the day and you can go anywhere you'd like. The most we usually take on our center console boats is 9 people. You don't have to know exactly where you want to go, the captain can give you plenty of suggestions and you can play the day by ear. For the center console boats, a full day is 8 hours. Fuel charges would depend on where you go. If you went to the BVI you could visit any combination of Tortola, Norman Island, Jost van Dyke, etc. and fuel it would be around $175; anywhere between $150-200 depending on where you go and how much you bounce around. Virgin Gorda is not included in this as it's about 40 miles away so if you included The Baths in your itinerary fuel would be around $275-300; maybe less it just depends on the water conditions that day and where else you went. We do this trip often but always like to let people know it's more expensive for the fuel. You could also stay in the USVI and spend your time around St. Thomas, St. John, Water Island and some of the little uninhabited islands and fuel would be about $150. Our captains make sure that each trip is customized to fit exactly what the guests are looking for whether it be snorkeling, beach bar hopping, visiting the most popular spots, checking out some of the more hidden local spots or a combination of all. On these boats we provide snorkel gear and a cooler with ice and water and you're welcome to bring anything you want.

What an AMAZING day! We visited the swanky Peter island , Jumped off into the beautiful blue water at the famous Willy Ts, and ended our day at our favorite island, Jost Van Dyke. Thank you the experience Captain Holden, you were beyond great! Thank you!

What a fabulous stroke of luck, we boarded the " GUS Bus", a 32' Intrepid, at the National Park Dock in St John and had the most fabulous day running down to Virgin Gorda we have had in probably 20 years. The perfect size boat for four people to take a north swell and experience a magical day of new experiences and the treasure that is The Baths and the rest of the BVI! We had one person in our group who had never been to the USVI or the BVI and certainly had never been to The Baths so we were determined to make sure he had the full experience. We were a little concerned because there had been some tropical weather in the area prior to the trip and there remnants left us with a north swell to conquer. Luckily we had the perfect boat and the perfect captain - our man Gus! If you are familiar with the area and have made this trip with a north swell, you know it can be challenging and is more of ride than a tour. Gus hit all, I mean all the points of interest along the way explaining what everyone was seeing during the journey. We took the north shore of Tortola and not only did Gus point out everything important along the way, he managed the boat through the high seas in a comfortable, relaxing way like we have never experienced. Our first stop was customs clearance in Spanish Town, Tortola. Usually, we would swim into the Baths but given the swell, it was not an option. Gus took us to a taxi in the marina so we could get down to the Baths while he cleared the boat, leaving us more time to enjoy the water in the afternoon. Once at the Baths, well if you have been there you know, if you haven't, check out some of the pictures and then go Google The Baths! When we were finished exploring the Baths, we sat down on the beach for a beer until we were ready to go back to the boat. On the way out, we bought some hats and met our taxi driver who quickly took us back to the marina. Back under way, we quickly made our way over to Marina Cay for lunch and to pick up some JavaMur Coffee Infused Rum and JavaMur infused cigars made at Aromas in Tortola. We are so happy we chose Marina Cay, the food, drinks, and service were all fantastic. After lunch we went to a nearby reef selected by Gus for a drift snorkel - it was amazing! We loaded everyone back on the boat and headed back along to north shore of Tortola for a fast ride to White Bay, Jost Van Dyke. If you have been to White Bay and Soggy Dollar, you know they never disappoint and they didn't on this day. It was so incredibly relaxing and just what we needed. We then headed back toward St John and stopped along the way to await electronic clearance through customs and immigration. It was the ultimate day and due in no small part to our Captain Gus. Never during the trip were we uncomfortable, no one missed anything along the way, we found adventure, we found relaxation, we found amazing food and drinks, and we didn't wait in a single customs line. We have take this trip many times when there is a north swell and I had some reservations I didn't really share with our group. I tried to prepare them for what could be a bumpy ride on the way down to Virgin Gorda without scaring them into cancel the trip. Everyone on the trip was comfortable, everyone had an amazing time and if I had the opportunity to take this trip another 100 times, if Gus and Sonic Tours were available, I would take it 100 times. ...and, we had a full 9 hours on the boat!

We had an amazing time on our Sonic Charter! We spent a beautiful day hopping from snorkling spots and beaches on St. John to lunch on Lovango. Our skipper Nate was terrific -- relaxed, friendly, funny, and helpful, with great suggestions on where to go and what to do. He really tailored the trip to our group and created the best day of our visiting family's vacation by far! Whether you're a local or a visitor, this kind of boat trip makes you appreciate the beauty of being in the Virgin Islands.

We had the pleasure of spending a full day out on the water with Sonic Charters aboard the 32' Intrepid Powerboat, and it was an unforgettable experience! We were in the Virgin Islands with friends and wanted to give them the best introduction to this beautiful place, and Kevin certainly delivered. The kids had a blast, from swimming with turtles to enjoying the beautiful scenery. The highlight of our trip was stopping at Lavango for lunch, which was absolutely amazing—delicious food and breathtaking views. The boat was comfortable, well-maintained, and perfect for a day of exploring. We couldn't have asked for a better day on the water. If you're looking for a unique and fun way to experience the Virgin Islands, I highly recommend Sonic Charters!

We had an unforgettable experience with Sonic Charters aboard the Cruzomian! Our group of 8 friends had an absolute blast visiting The Baths in Virgin Gorda, Norman Island, and St. John — each destination was more stunning than the last. Captain Holden was phenomenal — knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the day. The service was top-notch, and the price was by far the best we found for a private charter that could accommodate all 8 of us and still fit our budget. If you’re considering a charter in the Virgin Islands, Sonic Charters should be your first choice. We’ll definitely be booking with them again the next time we’re back!

With the ninth visit, as always, we pick Sonic charters for her boat day. Gus was our captain. He took us to all the places we wanted to go and introduced us to a few new locations. Very friendly, very professional. It was made for a great day. The boat itself was extremely clean, well appointed and suited as perfectly

Captain Holden was fantastic. Took the family around to some great new snorkle spots and suggested a great place to stop for lunch. Well worth spending a little more for this than a few hour excursion from the resort with a bunch or strangers.

This was by far one of the best decisions we made! Our captain, Weezy, was absolutely the best. So laid back, professional, and fun. She kept us entertained yet was open to what we wanted out of our experience. From multiple snorkeling spots to bar hopping and restaurants, we did it all. We had so much fun that we rented the boat again that week (with Weezy at the helm of course) and went to BVI. The waters were a bit rough for snorkeling, so we did a bunch of bar hopping and site seeing. It was such a blast! If you love the ocean, I highly recommend including at least one day of boating on your trip. Easy to book, outstanding service, and an unforgettable trip!

Well what a dive experience. Diving Great Barrier reef with a great charter. From check in the staff were helpful and friendly and was just looking to make your dive a great day. My two boys did an introduction to scuba and as a certified diver the team made the effort to allow me to tag along their first dive experience. The lunch and facilities where great and we are leaving Aus to head back to Eng with some great memories. Thanks to the team in on board to make this moment possible and some great photos that Ill cherish for the rest of my life. THANK YOU.

We went on a charter day trip with Louise as our captain. She was awesome! It was our first full day in St. Thomas and she shared great information about STT and STJ. We visited snorkeling spots around STJ and had lunch at Lime Out. Both the snorkeling and lunch were incredible. This day was one of the best of our entire week. Highly recommend!
