If you are first time on Zanzibar, Spice Tour on Zanzibar is one of the more interesting and educating tours about Zanzibarian culture. Tour takes you to an organic farm with wide variety of plants around the year. Herbs and tropical fruits such as lemongrass, nutmeg, cinnamon, turmeric, vanilla, coconuts, papaya, chili, black pepper, jackfruit, cardamom, cassava, oranges and of course cloves are some of the many spices, flavours and fruits you will discover. You don’t just see, you also touch, smell and taste. A unique experience for all senses! The tour finishes with a stop at a spice stall where you can buy fresh packaged spices, essences and organic spices soaps at a great price (cash only).
Prison Island - Changuu Private Island
Prison island is the one among of the small island in Zanzibar, which has the deep history about the Slave trade and the Construction of the Prison which leaded the name of the island but in fact it was later used as a quarantine hospital and nowadays the home of the giant tortoises which were banned from the city of Stone Town. Enjoy a 30-minute boat ride with a view of the Stone Town skyline, after arriving on Prison Island your guide will teach you the history and introduce you to the Giant tortoises. This trip is so interesting.

5.00We spent a really enjoyable day with our guide, Sultan, who told us all about the history and local culture of Stone Town and Zanzibar. The tour company were super accommodating, and were able to add extra people to the booking last minute and even arranged to pick them up from a different hotel on the other side of the island. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Zanzibar for the first time - the only thing is to make sure you bring some food with you or buy some en route because lunch isn’t included and it is a full day tour.

5.00It was an amazing tour to get the real Zanzibar vibe. Sherif was a fantastic tour guide. He makes you feel like you discover the hot spots of Zanzibar with an old friend and not a guide. His huge knowledge about the history makes you learn a lot. You will walk a lot, so just be aware of taking the right shoes with you. The short drive from spot to spot is a nice break as well. This is worth every penny; highly recommended!

5.00Excellent experience to explore Zanzibar island! Started with the spice farm tour, followed by a drive then boat to Prison Island, then onto Stone Town! Be prepared for a long day, bur very worth it. Our guide Sultan was fantastic - very knowledgeable and made the tour unique to us in terms of the time to spend at each location. He also had a great sense of humour which made it even more enjoyable! There is no dedicated lunch included in the tour so a suggestion to bring snacks!!

5.00Hassan was our tour guide and he was AMAZING!!! He was timely, kind, and incredibly informative. He was also very accommodating to our frequent bathroom and shopping breaks haha. I would 100% recommend this tour and Hassan to anyone.

5.00We had a wonderful experience visiting stonetown and surrounding areas. So much history and our guide Nayla was very helpful, knowledgable and experienced. Totally recommend doing this tour. Would also add in the Freddie Mercury museum as well.

5.00Just great! We had deliberately chosen a guided tour to avoid the “special” tourist prices and the constant appeal. It's worked! We got a lot of interesting information about all areas of the tour and saw corners we would never have gone to alone. Some things the guide had adapted directly to our personal wishes.

3.00The spice farm was the highlight of the day! My assistant Achmed from the farm put in so much effort for me that I could taste all the spices/fruits. My booked guide in German Abdul was anything but professional. His pronunciation difficult to understand. He tried very hard to take care of me. The stupidest thing was that he took his younger sister to Prison Island. Which spoke even worse German and could not tell me a coherent story. I had to read everything in the museum in English to understand the context. Stone Town was interesting, but I was already very tired by the efforts of communication. Today I would only visit the spice farm.

5.00The guide is most knowledgeable, courteous and professional. Took me to the prime spots with ease and ensured that the experience was satisfying to me by checking in as we went along. I had a most enjoyable day including him getting urojo (a must-have street food) for me and parking in the car to allow me to eat.
