The Ghostly Encounter tour is a unique variation of the walking tour. YOUR GUIDE IS A GHOST!! During this haunting 90-minute adventure, your Ghost guide will be telling their haunted tales just as they experienced them so many years before. Gettysburg
Your guide will orient you to the area of East Cemetery Hill which is the location of heavy fighting during the Battle of Gettysburg before you enter the National Soldiers Orphanage Homestead. This building was used as the headquarters for General O.O. Howard during the battle and was also use as a hospital during and after the battle. After the end of the Civil War the building was turned into an orphanage for children whose fathers were lost during the American Civil War. That is where our story begins...

Highly recommend orphan tour

5.00Our guide was in character and very dedicated to her role. She was able to broadcast the horror of the orphans with emotion. I was very affected by the experience and have recommended the trip to my friends and family. Being closed in the basement pit may be too intense for the lighthearted- but it is optional and you can sit this part out.

5.00Our guide, Chris, was ABSOLUTELY amazing. She conducted the tour in period costume as Miss Rosa. She was knowledgeable, funny, engaging, and incredibly warm. She made the experience super fun, it was incredibly inclusive!!! I would absolutely recommend this. Not to mention the fact that the orphanage has a very strange vibe, which makes it all the more exciting.!!!!

5.00Mike “The Undertaker” was amazing!! Definitely worth the money!! He starts out by telling you that if he only told us about ghosts the tour would take twenty minutes, and he was probably right. He spent the next two hours giving us background on post war Gettysburg, the people, the orphanage, its children, and the women who lived it. He made you want to sit there for hours and listen or better yet read the book he should definitely write, I would buy it!!! If you get the chance to take his tour do it you won’t regret it!!!
