Your guide will orient you to the area of East Cemetery Hill which is the location of heavy fighting during the Battle of Gettysburg before you enter the National Soldiers Orphanage Homestead. This building was used as the headquarters for General O.O. Howard during the battle and was also use as a hospital during and after the battle. After the end of the Civil War the building was turned into an orphanage for children whose fathers were lost during the American Civil War. That is where our story begins...

I had an amazing time at the Orphanage! Mike was fantastic he really captured the essence of the story and gave me goosebumps during his story's of old Gettysburg, creating a fabulous story for us to picture! Thank you for sharing the children I'm glad I got to meet at least 1 even if for only a second!

Excellent, interesting, engaging and entertaining. Mike is a superb tour guide/entertainer. He kept it to historical stories. Respect to those that passed by not doing the ghost hunt/provoking.

One of the best experiences in Gettysburg. Every tour guide has different stories and historical facts about the orphanage and time period. We had Mike and he was a phenomenal story teller and guide. We were entertained from start to end because of him.

Mike the undertaker who was our entertainer, was absolutely amazing. He made the tour. He was knowledgeable, witty, engaging and fun. He took pride in his work and I cannot wait to do his tour again!

Went to the orphanage tour in October. Had Tom for a guide and he was great! He had a lot of personal stories and experiences and was very knowledgeable about the area. He used some small equipment and tried to engage the whole group. Definitely worth the cost.

Informative and spooky. Would highly recommend. Make sure to bring a flashlight and a camera for pictures. Planning our next trip.

My daughter and I come every October since 2022. We always try something different, so we did the orphanage tour and it was amazing!! Mike was the best!!! I would definitely do it again and if you are going to do I hope you get Mike!!!

Mike the undertaker was a great guide, both spooky and entertaining. Basement of Orphanage in partial darkness was spooky. He really does a great job and enjoys his work. I recommend this tour.

We took our tour on 10/9, and our guide Mike, was dressed as an undertaker, which gave a good creep factor. He did an amazing job at engaging the crowd, and giving the not talked about stories of Gettysburg, including the women and children. The cellar was worth the tour, and you are in complete darkness for a bit. Highly recommend this tour and Mike the guide, for his dark humor.

Was a very good time, talked about the aftermath of the war which interested me , also a sad part but needs to be known. Would go again.
