  I come from a culture that deeply values warm hospitality, ancient history, and spiritual roots—and this "Spiritual Adventure into Inwangsan & Korean Shamanism" tour absolutely blew me away. I booked this through GetYourGuide, and it ended up being the absolute highlight of my trip. ​The Guide: Our guide, Ethan, was simply phenomenal. He was so patient, incredibly knowledgeable, and had a wonderful, welcoming energy that made the whole group feel right at home. He has a real gift for taking complex traditions and explaining them in a way that is engaging and easy to understand as we hiked up the mountain. ​The Shamanic Reading I decided to add on the extended 1:1 meeting with the Shaman for a reading, and I am so glad I did. It was an incredibly powerful and authentic experience. Coming from a background that appreciates deep spiritual connections, this reading resonated with me on a profound level and offered such a unique perspective on Korean culture that you just can't get from standard sightseeing. ​Overall Experience Between the stunning energy of Inwangsan and the beautiful insights into Shamanic rituals, everything was perfect.   A very different experience. (Very good). Quiet and informative with quite a bit of stair work. However, Ethan was a great host informative and charming, made his way to start discussing the tour hours before it started so everybody was informed of start times and place of meeting. It was a largish group this night. Once the first few stairways were over, the tour was better paced and enough time to be’ info-tained ‘. Ethan is a self professed story teller and did an awesome job keeping us all included in the tour. He is well versed in the history of the city and its shamanism practices and community. A few stops made us all reflect on the ways of our own paths, then a few lovely surprises after the tour was completed as well. (The day after even…) We did the tour without the shaman reading as we were late in booking, but the walking tour was very good without it. (If you want a reading then you will need to book early.) Would not recommend for people with low fitness levels or mobility issues.

  Saman count is very fun, and there is a very accurate part. Just give a name and a new year's birthday, Sato will start counting you as a whole person, including your personality, destiny, past life, how past life affects this world, gifts, future direction, how to succeed in life, recent years and so on. It's a good thing that I didn't say anything, but I have a precise account of my better aspects, disease issues, and don't say you have to believe in what religion, and respect you very much. After I ask the question, I will not give some imitating answers, but very specific content. Ask how long does it take to change if it is not suitable, and give a clear time to answer, as well as the next direction. It was a great counting experience. Climbing is fun! Because Shamun is a way of deepening into the life of the Korean people, even Christian Catholics will come to ask Shamun when they have questions. The tour will take us all the way up the mountain (both are stairs, there are no places that are especially difficult to go), and introduce a variety of Shaman, Buddhist culture. In the course of climbing the mountain, you can see Saman actually worship, learn about the Korean nation-building culture and their importance for tigers, see the shape of the mountain like the king and the tiger, the origin of the name of Seoul, and a lot of interesting cultural little knowledge, even there are shops selling Saman sacrifices. The guide speaks funny humor, but does not make a boring joke, is a good person. The weather is very cool on the top of the mountain, the street view on the mountain is beautiful, but you can actually buy candles and the God of the rock, go to the mysterious wells of the mountain to feel the energy of Sapan, even though the mahogany like I feel that calm spiritual atmosphere is precious. The tour guide will also share a lot of ideas about Saman nearby, and what warnings, restrictions and taboos are there for this tour. The content is great. It was my most comfortable walk experience in Korea.

  I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Ethan as our guide. His deep knowledge and genuine passion for Korean shamanism brought the culture to life in such a meaningful and respectful way. He didn’t just share information — he told stories, explained traditions, and helped us understand the spiritual significance behind the practices in a way that felt both insightful and authentic. The walk up Inwangsan was equally memorable. Ethan guided us at a comfortable pace, pointing out important landmarks and sharing the history and symbolism connected to the mountain. The combination of nature, culture, and storytelling made the entire journey feel very special. Ethan is warm, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. If you’re looking for a guide who offers more than just a tour — someone who truly connects you to the culture — I highly recommend him. This was easily a 5-star experience that I’ll remember for a long time.

  Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Ethan was knowledgeable and gave insight into the history, culture, and rituals. I never would’ve been able to find this area of the mountain on my own. And, wouldn’t have understood what I was visiting. I also did the shaman reading which was very touching because the first-hand experience is only something I’ve ever seen on TV.   Ethan was warm and sincere. The views at night of the city wall were beautiful. What really made this experience was how Ethan guided us through a real shaman community. We met actual Korean shamans going about their daily business in sacred mountain sites. He gave us historical context throughout. It's clear he has really put his heart into developing and offering this unique experience.

  One of the best tours I’ve ever experienced. The entire evening was truly exceptional – incredibly informative, engaging, and unlike anything else I’ve done before. The combination of history, culture, and spirituality makes this tour very special and authentic. Ethan is an outstanding guide. His knowledge is extensive, and he explains everything in a clear, engaging, and passionate way. You can really feel how deeply he understands the topic, which makes the experience even more meaningful. I also chose to do the private shaman reading afterwards. While this is something very personal and I won’t go into details, I can say that it was a very insightful and eye-opening experience for me. Overall, this tour exceeded my expectations and is something I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and meaningful experience in Seoul.
