On this tour, you will be able to learn about the ancient town of Split with a licensed local guide. You will hear stories about the famous roman emperor Diocletian, as well as the Venetian, French, Austro-Hungarian, Ottoman, and communist reign of the city. Split is a beautiful dalmatian city with breathtaking views. Our friendly guides will give you advice about all the attractions, restaurants, and Instagrammable locations that this city has to offer. Not only will you learn about Split's rich history, but you will also feel like a local because our knowledgeable guides will share all the secrets of the town and the locals and might even teach you a couple of Croatian words while making you laugh. It is also possible to visit other locations that include a fee or grab a cup of coffee should that be of any interest to you.

Mate was the most fantastic guide! He took us around Split and Trogir, and not only showed us the interesting sites, but brought the history alive with stories presented in both an engaging and humorous way! We had the most enjoyable time that we arranged a second tour to Salona with him on another day, which was equally brilliant. You will not be disappointed if you book with Mate - our time with him has been the highlight of our holiday.

Mate was an awesome tourguide! He not only knew the best photo spots, but also told us so much about Split. He took us on an interesting tour which ended with the best ice cream in town. We can only recommend to book one of his tours. We loved it!

i had the best time! my tourguide mate was the greatest and didn’t cancel even though i was the only one who’d booked the tour. he could answer almost every single one of my questions, could take my jokes and gave me all the good and interesting information. i did a quiz with friends afterwards who did the same tour with different guides and i had the coolest information! also the best ice cream i’ve ever had!

The tour was magnificent!!! Mate was super nice and extremely funny. He showed me the city through eyes of the history and through eyes of a local! I learned so much about how people live in Split but also learned a lot about the history of the town. He didn’t just say the facts but also made the effort to make them interesting through many stories. I had a lot of questions, and he was great about it - super patient and his answers were exactly what I was hoping for. Throughout the tour, he pointed out some famous local restaurants and ice cream places where I later stoped by for a bite and I loved it. All in all, the tour was great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who really wants to enjoy the tour and not just be overwhelmed with boring history facts as it usually is on these kind of tours. Thank you Mate for a great tour!

Mate is very awesome. Explains slowly, thoroughly, and in a somewhat funny way. Easy to understand his English also. He is local and knows the area well. Will lead you to good places to eat as well! We really enjoyed his tour! Thank you Mate. Scott & Trylla🇺🇸

Our tour guide was so fabulous and stylish and he showed us all the highlights of the city as well as explained the history and the culture of the people perfectly. You will be charmed by our guide immediately and astonished by all the stories he has to tell you!

Excellent tour with a very knowldgable local guide that made us laugh and taught us some croatian along the way. I was so surprised by Split's history it was so fascinating to hear all about the war years from a local and to learn about the locals. Thank you Matthew for everything!
