Steam through the passageway of 12,000 year old icebergs as they travel from the glaciers of Greenland. Surround yourself with the different seabirds that frequent our shores including the black-legged kittiwakes, northern gannets, bald eagles and the elegant yet playful Atlantic Puffins. Visit the most easterly point in North America, Cape Spear. Breathtaking views of where the Atlantic Ocean meets the land, with Cape Spear Lighthouse and Battery above you. 5.00Iceberg Quest delivered one of the most incredible wildlife experiences I’ve ever had. Whale activity was everywhere you looked—breaches, tail lifts, and water spouts stretching across the horizon. At times it felt like a full 360-degree experience, with whales surfacing in every direction and spouts visible for miles. What made it even more special was hearing the captain repeatedly say that what we were witnessing was rare and unlike anything he had seen in all his years running tours. The excitement and emotion in his voice made it clear this wasn’t just another day on the water. The crew was fantastic, professional, and genuinely passionate about sharing the experience. The live music from Mark Manning added a uniquely Newfoundland touch and made an already unforgettable day even more memorable. I’ve been fortunate to experience some amazing things while travelling, but this was one of those rare experiences that I’ll be talking about for years to come. If you’re visiting Newfoundland, Iceberg Quest should be at the top of your list.

3.00The staff was friendly, and the boat was great. I was disappointed that we didn’t get to see any icebergs, whales, or other marine wildlife during the tour. I understand that sightings of whales and other wildlife can never be guaranteed. However, I spoke with other tour operators who mentioned that icebergs had been visible around Sleepy Cove throughout the week, and several friends were able to see them on their tours. Perhaps my expectation was that there would be more local knowledge and awareness of where icebergs and other points of interest were likely to be found. While I understand that nature is unpredictable, I had hoped for a bit more guidance based on current conditions in the area.

1.00Icequest should have cancelled today with rough seas! They did NOT and were not prepared for most passengers vomiting!! I have requested a refund and due to having to require to have our warm coats washed, we will be without them until Friday late afternoon.

5.00Amazing!! Our boat trip would have been cancelled because bad weather was coming in so they called us to arrange a different time before we flew home. We got to have a once in a lifetime experience of seeing an iceberg!
