Our most beloved and sold excursion starts from the harbor of Ohrid. On calm lake water the boat will bring you to the Island of Saint Naum. The wonderful view along the road is full of gems, like the ‘Bay of Bones’, idyllic fishing villages and historical buildings.
After arrival visit the whopping 9th century monastery of St. Naum, where you will learn the origin of the Cyrillic writings and the legends of St. Naum and predecessors.
Before discovering the island by yourself, you will enjoy a rowing boat trip over the springs of the Black Drim, known for her pure and untouched natural beauty.
Afterwards you will have the chance to explore the island on your own and at the end you will be brought back to the port of Ohrid and / or you pick up point.

Sadly in peak summer, the St Naum Monastery and area around it is a massive tourist trap and its incredibly overcrowded. The whole thing came across a little bit disorganised. Instructions for meeting at Ohrid Port weren’t clear, and the 9:40am meet time came and went. There was very little input from the tour guides, and the tour itself was simply added to another very busy boat who had paid for just that element. We got taken to the Bay of Bones which we weren’t aware would be happening - only given 30 minutes and had to pay for as well. Rowing boat tour was alright, and the look at the church was really interesting, but don’t feel the length of the day, and the cost was worth what we got out of it. Probably far better in a slightly quieter part of the summer season.
