We visit Stockholm City Hall courtyard, designed by Swedish architect Ragnar according to Renaissance castles in medieval Venice and was inspired especially by Piazza S.Marco ( the Cathedral square). The architect added also a Scandinavian touch with features such as the fountain shells , statues...to remind visitors that the is surrounded by water !
Stockholm Old Town
Gamla Stan is the oldest island in Stockholm, dating back to the 13th century and founded by the Hanseatic League in 13th century. The medieval town was designed by the Hansa according to North-Germanic architectural style ( especially Lubeck) .The island is very picturesque, all the buildings are dating back to the 17th, 18th century.
