Monkey Island

Reception at the airport or bus station in Puerto Maldonado town, transfer to the city center office, then departure for the river port where we will take the boat, which will take us to our lodge for a forty minutes journey. Welcome meeting, with a delicious local fruit juice and installation in your private lodge. After a restorative rest, you will have an introduction short walk in the surroundings at the lodge in the rainforest, guided by experienced bilingual local guide, who will take you through our trails system, after lunch will go by boat to the Monkey Island, and you will be able to observe the wonderful flora, the giant trees which can be more than five hundred years old, at the same time you can see birds (toucans, orioles, Black-tailed Trogon, macaws, monkeys, snakes, butterflies, etc. You have the opportunity to experience the magic of our jungle, also before dinner will do a caiman’s searching along the Madre de Dios river with high chances to see more nocturnal animals

Lago Sandoval

After breakfast, we will go out to the Tambopata National Reserve where we will walk about 5 km. Amidst the dense tropical jungle up to Sandoval Lake, one of the largest in the Tambopata Reserve, this lake offers a spectacular view of the landscape and many wild animals, very good for bird lovers and you will always see two or three species of monkeys. Typical lunch of the region, after lunch we will take a rowing boat ride and enjoy the wide variety of birds and monkeys of different species (shanshos, cormorants, jacanas, puma heron, howler monkeys, squirrel monkey, black capuchin monkey, tamarin monkey and sloth). With luck we will encounter a family of giant otters (nearly two meters long) and the largest recorded alligator measuring over 4 meters long. Back to the lodge and we can relax and enjoy the lodge's facilities, or go for a short walk. Before dinner a night walk to see insects, reptiles, nocturnal birds, and possibly some animals that we might come across during the hike.

After our breakfast will do a good day of alot fun starting firth at 9:30 am going to do Canopy walk way and kayaking in the Madre de Dios river where have chances to take a refreshing bath in the river, then will go to find how amazing is the amazon rain forest is from that side full adventure time for every one Back to our lodge, after having enjoyed lunch, we will go piranha fishing in a river that is part of the Tambopata Reserve (catch and release), and we’ll observe many birds and possibly some other animals. Back to the lodge for dinner and watch the spectacular sunset.

Before breakfast very early we prepare to visit a small green parrot clay wall CACHUELA, where we will see 7 species of parrots and 2 medium sized macaws, the activity is done by boat and we see them depending on the time and the weather from the rocks or sandbanks. with the possibility of spotting toucans, other birds and the ever sought after 2 and 3 toed sloth, breakfast on the beach or on the boat, return to the lodge and in time we will visit a family of MACHIGUENGAS natives where we will learn some of their culture, practice archery and arrow shooting, see their dancing and singing skills, then in the afternoon we will visit a local farm where we will try to eat and to know local fruits and medicinal plants. After lunch you will be ready to head back to town and join our staff who we dropped off at our office and then wait for your plane to return or head to the bus station.
