This is a foodie immersion in real, ordinary San Sebastian to get a real sense of community, understand how locals live and eat as you learn about local history and culture.
With every person that joins the tour, we help a person in need by donating a meal to the city's soup kitchen, you eat one you feed one!
It's a 3h walking tour, where there's mostly eating and less than 10 mins-walk between each stop. We’ll go to 5 specially selected stops within two different neighbourhoods.
You'll indulge and learn all about the unique culinary tradition of going out for pintxos! Pintxos pronounced 'pin-choss', these are different from tapas and imbedded in Basque culture. We're going to show you how to navigate the local food scene and eat the best that this city has to offer.
This experience is the kind of tour for people who hate the word 'tour' and genuinely travel for food and really want to get immersed in the culture and have fun.

The tour is designed so you have a full meal, but if you have a larger appetite you can choose to purchase extra food and drink if you'd like.

5.00We joined expecting good food and a bit of guidance — what we got was something far more memorable. A small group, a local guide who actually lives and breathes the city, and a perfectly paced walk through authentic neighbourhood bars that we never would have found on our own. Beyond the food itself, there’s also something meaningful behind it. Knowing that each booking helps support a local soup kitchen by donating a meal on behalf of everyone who joins the tour, it added an extra layer to the experience.

Every stop had something unique, and you could tell a lot of thought went into the selection. The team was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience enjoyable from start to finish. 5.00Doing this pintxos and wine evening food tour was one of the best decisions we made during our stay in San Sebastián. Our guide knew every local tip and hidden spot, and was warm, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and authentic from the very beginning. We visited several carefully chosen places to try amazing pintxos and local wines. We also learned so much about Basque culture, traditions, and everyday life in the city. What we loved most was that it never felt like a “tour” in the typical sense. Thanks to them, we genuinely felt like locals discovering the city with friends. We would definitely recommend doing this at the beginning of your trip because it gave us great local recommendations and helped us understand the city better. Afterwards, we felt much more connected to the city, and by the end of the evening, Donosti, as the locals call San Sebastián, no longer felt like a foreign city to us.

5.00I really loved the food tour with Maider. First of all, I like the concept that part of the money I pay is donated: I get a nice feood experience and someone else is provided with food as well :) They know all the good bars and restaurants with their specialty pinxtos. San Sebastián can be quite full and so do the restaurants. Maider did a really good job to find the best places and spontaneously adapt to situations where it was too crowded. Like that, we could have a relaxed experience of eating while listening to background information about the history of basque food, restaurants and other surprising facts ;) I would totally recommend and I'm going to do the tour for sure another time I come by!

Going to San Sebastián felt like coming home, a quiet place, full of kindness, good conversation, and that everyday life that fills... the best part was the food, not only for the incredible flavor but also because you learn the stories behind the delicious pintxos, the wine, its streets... experiencing it is like playing to discover a new flavor in every place. 5.00We had an amazing pintxos tour in San Sebastián and truly enjoyed the whole experience. Everything was very well organized, and our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about Basque culture and food. We visited several fantastic local bars we would never have found on our own, and every pintxo was delicious with great drink pairings. We also learned interesting facts about the city and its traditions, which made the tour even more special. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming throughout the evening. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip, highly recommended!

5.00If you really want to experience San Sebastián beyond the typical tourist spots, this tour is absolutely worth it. Walking through the city while discovering amazing pintxos, local wines, and the stories behind each place made us feel connected to the culture in a very authentic way. What made the experience special was how natural and personal everything felt. It never felt scripted or rushed. You can tell the guides genuinely love their city and enjoy sharing it with people. We visited places we would have never found on our own and learned small local details that made the whole evening memorable. The food and drinks were incredible, but honestly the atmosphere and conversations were what made it unforgettable. By the end of the tour, it felt more like spending time with locals than being on a tour. One of the highlights of our trip and something I would recommend to anyone visiting San Sebastián

5.00Cristina was an amazing guide and very knowledgeable both with respect to every aspect relating to food and drink but also the overall culture and history of the region. She selected a great variety of pintxos from a diverse range of places, accommodated all our preferences and went above and beyond to make this an unforgettable experience for us. We would've kept her for another three hours if we could. The social component that her 'eat one feed one' concept also gives back to the community is the cherry on top.

We think everyone should complete the tour early in your vacation time to understand the history and evolution of the pintos and experience the social behaviors. thanks Lilly for a great experience!!
