Our driver didn’t appear within an appropriate time, so we abandoned our proposed trip & took the shuttle into Port Louis

Rakesh arrived on time. Good car clean and well presented. Good driver and helpful. Took us to a restaurant that was an overpriced tourist experience. He enjoyed a lobster lunch and a commission. Nice friendly man with good English.

We used Chucky Taxi for a tour of Northern Mauritius and couldn’t rate our experience more! Chucky went out of his way to source a child seat for us and was a fantastic guide. He was informative, flexible on timings (key with a baby!) and an all round great guy. He takes pride in what he does and it shows. If you’re looking for a Mauritian tour guide look no further than Chucky Taxi!

We were met in the morning promptly by our guide Rakesh. Throughout the tour he was extremely informative and knowledgeable about the places we visited. Our first stop was Citadel but it was closed on Sunday but we still saw amazing views of Port louis. Then we went to Port louis and visited the craft market and the famous "umbrella street " Then we went to Botanical Gardens- 300 rupees entrance pp - we had plenty of time to explore before heading to Chateau labourdonnais where we had rum tasting and tour of house. Be aware - It was expensive at 700 rupees pp. Next Rakesh took us to a typical Mauritian restaurant for lunch, before heading off to Grand Baie and the little red church by the beach. Lovely to see all the local families out together enjoying a day at the beach. All in all a fabulous trip. Highly recommend Rakesh for his knowledge and constant smile. Recommend Chucky taxis for any trip around Mauritius.
