An evening of culture, kai and connection—our most popular night experience. Te Pō Combo begins at 4pm with a fully guided tour of our valley, followed by a buffet dinner and cultural performance—each element designed to deepen your connection to our historic geothermal valley and immerse you in Māori culture. Explore the stunning landscape of native bush, geysers, and mud pools, and feel the power of Pōhutu Geyser—the largest in the Southern Hemisphere! Your guided journey takes you through the geothermal valley, with visits to the Kiwi Conservation Centre and New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute. Savour a delicious hāngī buffet at our Pātaka Kai Restaurant & Bar, overlooking a geothermal wonderland. Enjoy fresh produce, traditionally cooked meats and vegetables, kai moana (seafood), and sweet desserts. Be captivated by a cultural performance in our beautifully carved meeting house, Te Aronui a Rua. The show includes a pōhiri (traditional welcome), waiata, mōteatea, poi, and haka. Wrap up the evening with a stroll back into the geothermal landscape while sipping hot chocolate. This experience lasts around 4.5 hours and is suitable for all ages.

Young Māori guides with a good sense of humour. Some pudding cooked in bubbling thermal pool. Geysers were magical. The boys shared Māori stories and sung for tour group.

The only downside is we visited on one of the few rainy days Rotorua experienced so far this year. Te Puia is a unique place and the scenery is something else. The experience is priced accordingly, so it was disappointing that the rainstorm made it impossible to walk around and enjoy the unique atmosphere. The tour guide tried to make the best of it, and obviously there's nothing they can do about the weather. The Maori cultural experience and dinner was very done. The hosts were both informative and entertaining. The dinner was incredible. They had a buffet with a number of great choices, quality on-par with an upscale restaurant. To be fair, only a small portion of the meal was prepared in the traditional "hangi" style. Te Puia is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, but do your best to time your visit for a nice day.

We spent 4 hours during the day, took a break and returned for the evening cultural show and buffet dinner. Although it is extremely crowded with tour groups during the day one can escape by heading away from the geysers and the Kiwi House to the more remote areas. We started by walking around the facility stopping at the Kiwi exhibit, the geysers, the model traditional village and the cultural craft center. The full day option allows an in-depth look at what they have to offer. The evening potion included a shorter visit to part of the center and finished with hot chocolate at the geysers. In between we were entertained with a wonderful cultural performance and an incredible meal - save room for dessert! The cafes offer a lovely assortment of food and drink during the day and there is ample space to sit and enjoy one's meal. No surprise, there is also a very nice gift shop on site.

This was included on our tour of NZ and was a great experience. From the geysers bubbling and shooting water sprays through the Maori culture and carvings to a Maori Hangi and concert, it was a superb day of entertainment and insight. We would do it again as there is so much to take in.

Fabulous guide showed us around an amazing educational, cultural centre, where we saw wood carvings, weaving etc. Beautifully awesome Maori welcoming demonstration followed by entertainment and hangi evening banquet. Geysers were exciting too.

Evening catches tourists par excellence (mass tourism) with a Maori show probably performed by artists some of whom did not even seem of Maori origin. Meal like in the canteen! We were hoping for a more authentic evening. We didn't learn anything about Maori culture on that night.

The geyser spout was brilliant. We also got to see the kiwibirds in action (although they are in a room in an artificial environment as they are kept in captivity). It was a tour stop, so it was a little less than an hour, but I wanted to take my time walking around. I think I can spend half a day. But the Maori show that accompanied the night set was disappointing. It was a strange show-up and I feel like it was quite different from the Māori tradition. I thought that folk shows from all over Asia would be better able to feel their culture.

A great experience that first began with being picked up from our accommodation. Upon arrival we were very fortunate enough to have Liam give us a tour. The tour was very interesting and informative. Liam was happy to answer any questions. The culture show that occurred was interactive, this made it a little bit more interesting. Buffet dinner was plentiful and delicious the dessert was amazing. The hot chocolate and geyser tour to conclude the evening was a great way to end the experience.

Great insight into Maori culture, our guide was outstanding, thanks Carol. We felt truly welcomed and included. Keep up the great work of investing in your youth by passing on traditions. Concert was entertaining and meal devine. The geyser under full eruption while dining was spectacular. Highly recommended
