Our Private Tour to Tetebatu was not as we expected. Pros: 1. Our guides and driver were very good and friendly. 2. We stopped at a Weaving Village, not on the tour description. We were given a tour by a local woman which showed how they weave and live in the village. We enjoyed this, the weavings are beautiful, but we did feel obligated to buy. 3. The Tetebatu village walking tour and walk through the rice terraces led by a local young man were much appreciated glimpses at rural village life. We were shown how they grow and harvest rice, coffee, spices, and coconut oil. 4. Lunch at the local restaurant was excellent. We had many choices and enjoyed them all. Cons: 1. The info on the tour led me to believe we would see the Lingsar Temple as part of our tour. We were told that because we came from a cruise ship, the temple would only be possible if we wanted to add it at the end, for an additional cost. 2. We were told to wear shoes that could get wet because we would have to walk through water to get to the first waterfall. We did. But we were not told that the path to the waterfall is a steep descent to a very rickety bridge. When the bridge ends, you do not just walk through water. The water is a rushing river and you need to walk in water among boulders, and find footing and places to hang on to the rock wall. We chose not to risk twisting an ankle and turned around, back over the rickety bridge and up the steep ascent. 3. Because of that experience we chose to skip the 2nd waterfall. 4. The monkey forest was a nice hike. But at this point we were very hot and no monkeys were found. Not the guides fault, we realize they are wild animals. 5. We returned to our ship at 4 pm after starting at 8 am. So we did not add to the tour. 6. If the description of the tour had been better, we would have asked to see the weaving village, Tetebatu village and rice terraces walking tour, lunch, and the Lingsar Temple, and skipped the waterfalls and monkey forest. Since it was a private tour, being given these choices would have been better.

Our driver and guide told us a lot about the culture and lifestyle and agriculture of Tete batu. Both were amazing and such sweet souls. i would totally recommend this tour if you want to learn a lot. The waterfall war beautyfull but d bit crowded. After we finished the tour, we went all together to a traditional presean.
