5.00The trip through Otrobanda with Jaqueline. We had already walked around Otrobanda on our own and discovered spots. However, we were not so impressed by that. But something was itching to find out more about this place on the island. How much we enjoyed this beautiful tour! The guide is really passionate about the history of this piece of the island. And through her passion and knowledge, she has shown us places that we would otherwise never have discovered and should not have missed! Really highly recommended! But especially with her (or her colleague because he was also very enthusiastic about it) makes the trip just a bit more fun than a Dutch dude (who we also met) who has to convey this. In short, do because Otrobanda is worth getting to know!

From the moment we met her, Hettie was warm, friendly, and incredibly inclusive—making everyone in the group feel welcome and engaged. Her deep knowledge of Curaçao’s rich history, paired with her thoughtful reflections on the island’s future, brought the city to life in a way that was both educational and inspiring. An Essential Experience for First Time Visitors to Otrobanda!

4.00I booked this tour last minute (overnight) with the provider after my planned tour for the day was cancelled. Communication via WhatsApp was great and I was able to pay in cash after the tour ended. Our tour was led by the effervescent Jacqueline who is very knowledgeable about the art and artists you will find in Otrobanda. I got the impression that we were getting info you wouldn't get anywhere else. We got the water as promised and she even brought Alcolado to help us cool down in the heat! During the tour you get a lot of important info about what you can find in Otrobanda as well as the history of how this quarter of Willemstad was developed. The group was small so there was no rush and there are tonnes of "Insta-Worthy" spots for photo ops on this tour. We also got great views of the city and the highest bridge on this tour. A few days after this tour I could easily find my way around Kura Hulanda based on the info I got learned on this tour and spend a longer time at some of the sites we were shown (like the museum and the Gelato shop). I met other tourists during my visit who had no idea of all the god stuff that was available in this quarter and I was very happy I did this tour first. Thanks Dundu Tours! The only issue I had with the tour is that it did not end back where it started as the description said it would. Ours ended just below the "pretty steps". This is fine if you're in a group and you have a good sense of direction to make your way to where ever you want to go next or if you want to continue exploring the area. However if you're on your own or you weren't paying attention to how you got where you were, this can be a little unsettling. Be sure to bring a hat, sunglasses, good walking shoes, and of course a camera and you will not be disappointed.
