This is a demanding hike into the gorge and abandoned village of Masirat Ash Shuraqiyin with spectacular views of Hajar Mountains. The Path The path is well formed with some obstacles and exposed sections, steep at some parts. The Route The trek starts at a small village of Mohaibis and continuously leads down the wadi. After passing a wonderful hidden village of Al Khutaymi and a huge cave, you will reach the most exciting natural swimming pool in Jebel Al Akhdar where you can enjoy its cool water. After descending to Masirat Ash Shuraqiyin and recharging our batteries, we choose our route back to the starting point. Scenery Enchanting mountain landscape throughout the hike and date plantations upon the descent to Masirat Ash Shuraqiyin village. Hike parameters (approximate) - Elevation at the Start (m) : 1,900 - Elevation at the End (m) : 1,750 - Total walking distance (km) : 7.5 - Duration (hrs) : 5-6 - Difficulty level : Grade 2 - Medium - Location : Jebel Al Akhdar Fitness Requirements Due to its length, a good fitness level is needed to enjoy this hike. We do not recommend it for kids.

This tour was phenomenal — the scenery and challenging hike were amazing and we learned a lot about Oman and Omani culture. A very special thanks to our kind and knowledgeable hiking guide, Sayeed, who carried water and coffee for us and even shared dates from his own family garden during a break on the hike! With all that said, our driver and tour guide, Zack, helped make the tour special. Not only was Zack was incredibly helpful in answering questions before the tour, he also went out of his way to help make sure we were comfortable. When we’d mentioned that we liked Persian food, he took us to an excellent Persian restaurant after our hike. When he overheard that we liked Omani tea (karak), he stopped on the way to and from the hike without us even asking. And, along the way, he answered every question we would think of about Oman. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and kind. Thank you Zack!

This is the second time I've arranged a tour in Oman with Malik. This time we wanted to explore more of Oman during our stay. Malik arranged everything for us, airport transportation, food, hikes and climbs, camping in the desert, visiting a wadi and traditional home for lunch and all our driving around. Malik knows so many brilliant guides and we had the pleasure of meeting a few new friends on this visit. I would reccomend this company over and over for any one wanting to experience the real Oman. Malik and his team are trustworthy and reliable, they know all the best places and you'll learn so much about their beautiful country. We can't wait to come back again. Rebecca and Shaun

The organization trip that I had in short notice was with aryaf. I contacted them a night before our trip and they prepare and organize everything and the tour guide as well he is a nice person and helpful man, Sulieman,. We have 2 childrens and him offer his help when we were in the path of our hiking. Really, the trip was great and we enjoyed. Thanks guys.
