End of the World Train Ride
Ushuaia
Welcome to the End of the World, Ushuaia! We’ll be waiting for you at the meeting point in Ushuaia Port to begin our journey to Tierra del Fuego National Park, which is just 14 km south of the city.
The End of the World Train
Our first stop will be at the End of the World Train Station, where you’ll embark on a 60-minute journey along the last 7 kilometers of this historic route. This trip recreates the original journey taken by prisoners from Ushuaia’s prison to the slopes of Mount Susana, where they extracted materials for construction. Along the way, you’ll enjoy landscapes of lush forests, crystal-clear rivers, and unique natural settings. You’ll also learn about the region's first inhabitants, the indigenous Yámana, whose ruins are still visible along the route. At the end of the train journey, we’ll be waiting for you with the minibus to continue the rest of the tour.

This tour was one of the great moments of our trip. Everything was very well organized and from the first moment we felt accompanied by a professional and attentive team. The End of the World Train journey was unique: incredible scenery and a fascinating history that takes you back to the past. The visit to Tierra del Fuego National Park was also spectacular, with lakes, forests and views worth every minute. Highly recommended, especially for those who cruise or have little time in Ushuaia and want to see the best of the area.

A service of another level from the boat to the end of the world 🚢❄️ Since we left the Sapphire Princess, everything was perfectly organized. Our guide, Martin, was coming on board with us and it was a luxury to have him coordinating the group from the inside. Attentive, of course, always one step ahead so that everything flowed without stress. The transfer, the train, the National Park... everything worked like clockwork. But without a doubt, what made the difference was Martin’s humane treatment and professionalism. A service difficult to find today.

An amazing experience in Ushuaia 🚂❄️ Everything was perfectly organized from the start. They were waiting for us at the port, at the foot of the cruise ship, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. We did not waste time and could enjoy to the fullest. The End of the World Train ride was beautiful, full of history and breathtaking scenery. Our guide, Sebastian, was excellent: very professional, warm and with a great knowledge of the place. A highly recommended experience for lovers of cruise holidays, like us.

The multiple stops in the national park provided a range of great views with a good commentary from our guide Jackie. The train ride was informative and fun. I suggest one potential improvement would be to let guests know the meeting time is the time to meet, three guests kept us waiting 30 minutes and the whole group then had a truncated tour. From Viatours perspective, whilst they make it very clear that park and train tickets are not included, it would be good to provide indicative prices. A number of guests were surprised at the additional £22 and £43 per person for park and train respectively.

This trip started at cruise port and we were taken to train station for our 60 min journey on a steam train to the end of the world and it’s post office. Very quaint interior and very scenic journey. Weather was grey and wet at times. The history of the penal colony and life of prisoners was broadcast through personal headphones. There was a stop for locals to sell their photos of passengers taken at station. We then went on to a walkway to take in the scenery. A nice day out.
