4.00Our tour guide Alex was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the Mayan history. He knew Tikal very well and knew a lot about the archaeological side of the ruins. He was also very understanding when it came to letting my father take necessary breaks. The walking and the humidity was a bit much. While our guide and driver definitely deserve 5 stars, I put 4 only because of the inconvenience of the timing. Our pickup was scheduled at 7am (though they ran a little late which happens) but that also happens to be the time when our hotel starts breakfast service, with no option for anything earlier. Suffice it to say, we were pretty hungry by the time we got to have lunch at 1pm after walking through the jungle all day.
