Sahori is energetic, expressive, and knowledgeable on all things ramen. Goes out of her way to go beyond. I think she even took a partial shift at one of the ramen shops when other customers thought she worked there and she was passing orders back to the workers (maybe I misread the situation). Talk about dedication. When signing up for this, part of me thought this would be gimicky and we would be going to chain restaurants, but no, these were indeed small local shops allowing us to try small portions as part of this tour. The options of types of ramens were impressive. 3 shops, 12 different potentials (with you getting 6 mini bowls throughout the tour or 1.5 fulls bowls of ramen aggregated). You can also order extras like beer for a surcharge if you want (It was only like 400 yen). You also get to see more of the city. You start in the heart of Shibuya and work your way to the outskirts which I liked. Overall, great tour, would recommend to anyone that likes ramen.

We had a ramen tour with the 5am Ramen Tour company and our guide Oliver. Oliver was fantastic. He was very personable and social explaining the history and components of ramen. We went to two ramen stores both with different styles of ramen, the ramen stores were nothing short of mouth watering. Oliver also showed us Shinjuku City and explained the inner workings along with the places to be. I recommend 5am ramen and our tour guide Oliver to anyone who wishes to have a superb and engaging time tasting the greatest ramen tokyo has to offer.

This was a fantastic experience. It ended up being one-on-one, which made it feel very relaxed and personal. We visited three very different ramen spots, all excellent, with some background and history on each style. The portions are on the smaller side, which works well—you can try more if you come hungry. Great conversation throughout, and a really enjoyable way to spend the evening in Shibuya. Highly recommend.

Very fun walking through streets of Tokyo to places you would not know to go and trying all types of ramen. Brian was our guide and did a great job explaining the history of ramen. A great tour for the ramen lovers.

Makayla was an guide ✨️ we learned so much about the history of Ramen and the different types, so much so my partner and I learned which one was our favorite for future trips! The lortions were small thay we were able to taste each place without feeling too full and ever dish had its unique flavor and personality. She had so much passion for food and the for the area, we got to explore so much of Shinjuku because of her. I absolutely loved her and would come back again for any other tour with her ❤️

Wow! This was such a wonderful experience. My son and I visited three ramen shops and tried 12 exquisite ramens (4 smaller bowls at each stop). Our guide Makayla was fantastic. She knew her stuff, giving detailed descriptions of each bowl (geographical influence, signature ingredients, spice levels, etc.). She was also incredibly personable, friendly and fluent in Japanese and English (native Californian but speaking Japanese since the age of 8). Makayla would be perfect for both the ramen connoisseur or someone wanting an introduction to Japanese food culture. We finished our tour very satisfied. My son and I travelall over the world. This was one of the best food tours we’ve ever done.

My family and I had a great time! It was really cool getting to try so many types of ramen in one outing - really allows you to compare and experience the differences in the various ramen styles/flavors. We also learned a ton! Our guide Brian was so knowledgeable, engaging, and personable - we had a lot of fun chatting and exploring the shibuya area with him. Highly recommend!!

We had a lovely Ramen Tour with Brian. He picked some very interesting spots and shared how history shaped the various styles. If you see a green Ramen, try it! Fun fact: Slurping your Ramen is polite!

What a wonderful, educational and DELICIOUS way to eat and learn about the origins of ramen! I had no idea that there was so much history and culture associated with this dish! Come prepared to eat, walk and learn! And if you’re lucky enough to get BRIAN as your guide, even better!
