Had a couple free days in Tokyo after a conference, and I had a family friend say I had to go see sumo wrestling while I was in Japan. There weren’t any tournaments running but I found this and I’m glad I went. The host was entertaining and the two wrestlers were funny. And it was nice to learn about the history, rules, and culture rather than just watching wrestling. I’m sure an actual tournament would be even more impressive, but this was definitely worth doing.

Asakusa Sumo Club is fun for the whole family! We brought our 1 year old and weren’t sure how she was going to do, but the show held her attention and she got super into it! The staff were very attentive and the entertainers were very engaged with the audience. It was a great experience that we are happy to have had. For parents of young children who are apprehensive about going for that reason, the establishment is very family friendly. The space is set up well for needing to make quick exits, the bathroom is fully equipped with a baby seat and changing table, and the staff were very accommodating when we needed to step out.

An entertaining show providing a fun introduction to the sport, and art, of sumo. Our family really enjoyed the interactive and casual nature of the show, the food was fine (yummy enough for mass catering and all you can eat), and it was special to see the retired sumo up close and personal.

It’s a fun and entertaining way to learn about sumo wrestling! You get a dinner and a show around the sumo ring on tiered levels, so everyone can easily see. Lots of laughs!

This was a great show! The emcee and wrestlers were very entertaining and funny. My daughter was even able to participate at the end which made it even greater. The staff was very efficient and the hot box was tasty! This was a great way to spend a few hours and learn about the sumo experience.

It was an excellent and fun experience for the whole family, even for my wife who doesn't really enjoy sport. The emcee, wrestlers and staff were all very professional and slick. They made the learning about sumo both entertaining and interesting. Definitely recommend to everyone.
