• Great three days in the Atlas Mountains

  We booked the Toubkal climb and it was great. We did a one day acclimatisation walk to a pass that was lovely followed by a two day trip up Toubkal - first day was to the refuge, then up at 3am to watch sunrise at the top and then a walk back to Imlil.   I just completed a five day trip with Active Treks and the entire experience was outstanding! Mohamed and his team are well organized, friendly and knowledgeable. The trip started with an amazing summit of Mt. Toubkal, but then I took a tumble on the way down resulting in a hairline fracture…very painful, but Brahim got me safely down the mountain and quickly adjusted the plans. They got me immediately to an excellent doctor and stabilized. They also adjusted the rest of my trip to minimize walking (changed my hotel, altered the desert plan)….it felt seamless to me and they helped me enjoy the rest of trip despite my injury. The whole team was truly outstanding!!! I would absolutely book with them again.

  I had have just returned from a brilliant 6 day holiday in Morocco which included a 3 day trip from Imlil up to the summit of Toubkal and back. Mohammed organized everything perfectly including my transfers from the airport to a wonderful Riad in Marrakech where I spend a day exploring the markets. The next day I was driven to Imlil where I met my guide Ibrhamim and we spent the next 3 days working our way up to the summit of Toubkal and back down. Ibrahim was a wonderful guide, he knew everyone we met, was friendly and kept me laughing on what was a tough trek for me. I would happy book again through Active Treks as my holiday was perfect and stress free, Thanks again to Mohamed, Mustapha and Ibrahim.

  

  

  

• A great company to travel with.

  We booked a 7 day trip, with a day in Marrakech then 5 days of hiking in the Toubkal region and then a day trip to Ourika Waterfall. We were travelling with a 3 year old so wanted a fully guided and safe trip. Most companies would not accommodate a 3 year old however Mohammed and his team were amazingly accommodating and reassuring about travelling and hiking with her. We had an absolutely amazing guide, Ibrahim, who was super friendly, incredibly helpful and informative. We also had a fantastic Berber multeer Omar and his incredible Mule who was so calm and like a mountain goat over the technical mountain paths. They all made an excellent team and looked after us all brilliantly. We had some really funny times and overcame a few challenging times too as a team. We stayed at local Gites and had a real insight into the Berber culture as well as amazing food. The Atlas mountains were beautiful with excellent hiking and we had a lovely stay at two different Riads in Marrakech. I can highly recommend Active Treks Morocco.   Simply an awesome experience! I would highly recommend this trek it was moderately challenging and at the same time picturesque. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly, patient and put safety first. The entire trek was very well planned and organized- you will not be disappointed!

• Excellent trekking in the high Atlas!

  We had another fantastic trip trekking in the Atlas mountains, managing to bag 3x 4000m peaks in a couple of days. This was a short trip with 3 days in the mountains and 2 days in Marrakech. We had a private room in the Les Mouflon refuge, which was definitely worth it to get a good nights sleep (and not inflict our snoring on others too!). Our guide, Omir, was fantastic throughout- just like the previous guides we've had with Active Treks Morocco. Mohammed did an excellent job, as ever, of sorting accommodation, transport and activities- it all flowed seamlessly. On this trip we left the accommodation down to his recommendations and we were not disappointed- the riads were great; very comfortable, in good locations and reasonably priced too. The aircon was also very welcome when temperatures in Marrakech hit 37*C on the last few days.   My friend and I can't thank Mohamed and his team from Active Treks enough for a wonderful adventure in Morocco! From arrival to departure our trip was taken care of in a very professional and personally caring manner. All our transfers were on time and friendly. Our guide and chef/muleteer looked after all our needs on the trek providing knowledge, experience ,help and great healthy hearty meals freshly prepared in the mountains. We loved every bit of the experience and owe so much to our guide for getting us to the summit and back down safely. A true friendly, approachable professional! The whole teams outstanding communication and experience gave us the freedom to enjoy our adventure without worry! Also our accommodation at the Riad Nirvana in Marrakesh and our stay with Mohamed and his family were first class hospitality with real homely and personal touches. I would with no doubt go on any of Active Treks adventures and would recommend to everyone to do the same! Thank you so much!

  Mohamed, the tour operator, was very helpful and communicative prior to the tour, which helped us to plan and to come equipped. Hamid, the tour leader was extremely attentive to out needs at all times and made an extra effort with my younger son (aged 16), who enjoyed the experience so much more, as a consequence. When my other son felt unwell (at the beginning of day four), it was no problem for the team to change its itinerary and for us to avoid the higher altitudes (and heat), which would have been dangerous for him to even try in his condition. They also arranged (and paid for) a lengthy (if not somewhat terrifying!) cab ride to help avoid too much hiking on that day. We ended up staying in Imlil for the last night (at Mohamed’s guest house), which was a nice substitute for our final summit push. Special mentions also to Mohamed (#2), the cook and mule handler, Hamid (#2) his assistant, and Morad (Mohamed (#1)’s son), who helped with guiding duties. I would strongly recommend this team and with them al the best for the future.

  The food was amazing and the view was even better. At some points the mountains looked so nice and it was like I was in a movie. The tour guide was amazing and the hospitality was clean and beautiful.

  We had a wonderful experience with Active Treks. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we will certainly be recommending Muhammad to anyone coming to Morocco. Very professional and friendly service and wish our stay didn’t have to come to an end! Our guide Hamed and Cook Muhammad were amazing and made for a wonderful experience
