I can say that I was exhausted by the time we met up with Andy having already completed two full tours by 2 pm; however, I was re-energized by our tour with Andy. He took his time to show us interesting places of interest from bridges, to churches, to small novellas on buildings and what the architecture of the past looked like. He was very generous and never rushed us through any of the sites. My main interest was the Jewish ghetto and although it no longer exists as in other places in Italy, Andrew was able to describe exactly what it would have been like and pointed out what remains from that time period. Andy spoke perfect English and had a charming sense of humor which we greatly appreciated and made the end of the day very enjoyable.

First, thank you to Rish for waiting for us after my mix-up delayed the start of the tour. His warm personality and friendly demeanor put us at ease away. Rish struck the perfect balance of history, information, and beauty throughout the tour. The basilica was breathtaking with its mosaic exterior, mosaic ceilings and coloured marble tile floors, and the tiled “graffiti” wall. .It was fascinating to hear about the Pagan and Christian influences in Trastevere and the struggles of the Jewish community in the Jewish Ghetto. Also very interesting was how the word ghetto has such a completely different connotation in Europe as compared to North America. Thanks Rish for an amazing tour.

Rish was an excellent guide! Very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. We learned a lot about the trastevere and especially the history of the Jewish quarter. My husband needed to sit every so often, Rish made sure to find a place for him to sit (sometimes a rarity in Rome) and didn't rush us . Even gave us suggestions on where to eat.

Touring with A.J. was like meeting a new friend in Rome. She took interest in us and our interests, pointing out art and artifacts that we would appreciate. We talked a lot about layers. We now know more about what to look for, the significance of symbols, and the juxtaposition of old and new. Highly recommend.
