From Nebaj lasts for three days starting the hike in the (Region Ixil) to Todos Santos takes you off the beaten track and discover uncharted mountains Cuchumatanes chain where people live inthe remote communities and their traditional routes through 3 zones starting with the region “Maya Ixil, area , then here we will Mam area the “Chaplaincy, La Ventosa, Tower “up to Todos Santos mountain chain that is hardly visited Guatemala with few changes and features as unique as spectacular scenery, green valleys of pine, fir, juniper, oak, madrone is crossed, barren plateaus. The region was one of the hardest hit during the civil war (civil war that lasted 36 years) and memories of massacres and disappearances weigh on the minds of people.

This trekking adventure with a duration of 3 days of walking and a distance of 60 kilometers im total. We have to hike 15 kilometrs in the first day and obviosly we can have breaks during our hikes. First Trekking Day 7:00 am (we start the first day of trekking) 1:00 pm. Lunch time (box lunch) 4:00pm we arrived at the village. 6:30pm. Dinner time with a mayan family

This is the long trekking day and that mean we have to hike 25 kilometers and the last part we have to ride a colcal truck to get in the next village. 2nd Trekking Day 7:00 am. Breakfas with a mayan family 8:00 am. We start the trekking 5:00pm. We get in the second village (last part we will ride a car to get. 20 minutes) 6:30 pm. We take the mayan sauna (temazcal) 7:30 pm. Dinner time with a mayan family.

We wake up early at 4 am and let us start the last hiking to reach the summit of Cuchumatanes mountain, we will watch the sunrise from the top and then we are coming down to the village. 3rd Trekking day 4:00 am. We start the last hiking to reach the top of cuchumatanes mountain. 3,837 msnm. 8:00 we come down to the village. 8:30 am. Breakfast time 9:30 am. We take a short trip to get in the most colorful town (todos santos), we end the tour over there.

5.00We made the 3-day trek from Nebaj to Todo Santos, a great experience by its paths, landscapes and exchanges with local people.The first day is long and difficult. If it were to be done again, we would do its formula in 4 days to cut the first day in half with the big advantage of spending one more night at home and with more time to enjoy it in the afternoons. The last day is the climb to the top of the Torre for sunrise with a crazy view of the entire Guatemala volcano chain, from fuego to Tajamulco. Many thanks to our guide Jacinto and his agency Nebaj tours (only local guides). It adapts to customers, our wishes / abilities and most importantly, it allows us to interact with locals

5.00We took a five day hiking trip with children ages 7, 8 and 10. What an extraordinary experience! The Communities we visited were welcoming, the terrain was beautiful and our guide Salvador was both highly professional and a charming, engaging person to be with. I could not recommend this more highly, including with children.
