The duration of the tour is approximate, the exact duration will depend on traffic conditions and your personal interests (bonus visit included).
Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately: from May to September, please take a sweater or a jacket with you as temperature inside the salt mine is only 10-12° C (50-53° F)
In full season, because of big queues for the elevators, the guide may impose taking the stairs inside the salt mine (around 350 steps / one way)
Please try to put on some non-slippery shoes.
In compliance with Romanian law, children under 12 years old or shorter than 135 cm (53 inches) must use a car seat or booster. As we do not provide these, children who meet these criteria can only join the tour if you bring your own seat or booster.
This tour requires moderate walking on varied terrain, including paved paths, cobblestones, uneven, and slippery surfaces, as well as city hills. Expect to climb and descend stairs, including inside the salt mine, which has around 500 steps—though 90% can be avoided by using the elevator, except in case of technical issues. At Corvin Castle, be prepared for steep staircases without handrails, with no elevator access. Extended periods of standing are common, and you may experience changes in altitude and temperature throughout the tour.

5.00We were looking for a day trip from Cluj, both locations were great to visit. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. I noticed other people listening to our guide because they were missing the great stories. Would highly recommend this itinerary.

5.00I had a wonderful tourguide by the name of Joseph who took me on a adventure and had the patience to go into great detail about the history of each location. At the end of the experience I feel I have a greater understanding of a previous part of their history - and I can tell you, it is intriguing. I enjoyed it so much, I've passed the details onto all of my colleagues and intend to book at least one more tour!

5.00We arrive to Cluj on an overnight bus, so they offered to pick us up at the bus stop and take us somewhere for breakfast! We didn't have to hassle with getting our luggage to our apartment first. It made things so much easier. Our guide, Joseph, was very knowledgeable and friendly, and was told us all kinds of things about Romania and its history on the way to the castle. He didn't even mind when we fell asleep (due to lack of sleep on the bus lol). The castle was amazing and he walked us around and was full of information on the history of it. We saw remnants from communist rule, and went to the Rome ruins and Albu Iuliu before driving back to Cluj. He took us straight to our apartment and even called our host to make sure they were coming to let us in. All around a wonderful experience!
