Siena
Leaving Florence behind, the journey begins with a scenic drive through the rolling Tuscan countryside until the skyline of Siena appears, a perfectly preserved medieval city perched atop three hills. Known for its warm-toned brick buildings and Gothic character, Siena offers an immediate sense of stepping back in time.
Piazza Salimbeni
Upon arrival, a short walk leads to Piazza Salimbeni, a refined and quieter square framed by elegant palaces. Great trip, but Pisa could have been left out, as it was underwhelming. Lea was outstanding & driver was great!

Over promised under delivered tour. No enough time to climb the leaning tower and spend time in Pisa.

This is a fabulous tour out of Florence. But you must know it is a long day and a lot of walking (about 20K steps). The highlights - - The tour covers some fabulous spots. Siena - beautiful city with colorful stories of the Palio races and local rivalry and the beautiful cathedral. - San Gimignano, with its honey colored buildings and thriving squares. Great place to buy small artsy things. We got a pretty table cover, Christmas ornaments and leather bag charms. - Pisa, which includes the dome climb. - Our guide Manolo was fabulous. He was funny, kept us entertained during this long trip, and kept us strictly organized on time. Lunch was nice at a local winery with great views of olive trees and vineyards. - The tour is a great way to cover many things in one day. Challenges - - Definitely a long tour with a LOT of walking. The bus drops you a distance away from every stop and it is 15-20 min walk every time. Reconsider if walking 7-8 miles is a problem. - if you have a tour booked first thing the next day (like we did for an 8 am for Academia/Uffizi), you will be exhausted before you begin. Keep the next day a late start if you can. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you!

With more than 22,000 reviews already attached to this tour, I expected a well-oiled operation — and it certainly was. What I did not necessarily expect was for such a full day to feel so personal, warm and memorable. Miriella was an outstanding guide. Being Pisa-born, she brought far more than rehearsed commentary to the day. Her depth of local knowledge, good humour and obvious affection for Tuscany gave the whole tour real character. By the end of the day, she seemed to know everyone’s name, which says a great deal about the care she brought to a very busy itinerary. Siena was a wonderful beginning, especially the cathedral and the stories of the fiercely proud Contrada districts, whose identities come pouring out in the Palio in the magnificent Piazza del Campo. Lunch at the organic family-run wine estate was another highlight: generous, relaxed and accompanied by tastings of four Chianti wines. San Gimignano then gave us that classic Tuscan hilltop splendour: wide views, stone towers, olive groves, vineyards in majestic lines, stone pines and cypress trees. After another stretch through the countryside, Pisa made a fitting finale, with its extraordinary buildings and, of course, the famous leaning bell tower. We had limited time in Tuscany, and this tour allowed us to take in far more than we could ever have managed on our own. It was a long day, but a rewarding one — beautifully organised, rich in history, and lifted throughout by Miriella’s knowledge and personality. A genuinely excellent way to experience Tuscany.

It IS a walking tour. Italy is beautiful and hilly. You will walk uphill half of the time and there are also many steps. This cannot be helped.

Our tour guide, Lea, and bus driver, Stefano, were fantastic! Lea was knowledgeable, kind, and great at keeping the group on schedule. Stefano, got us to and from each location safely and efficiently. The entire tour was lovely - clean bus, great lunch spot, and wise local guides. I’d recommend this day trip to anyone who visits Florence.
