San Juan De Oriente

We will begin the morning heading to San Juan de Oriente, world-renowned manufacturer of detailed clay and ceramics pieces. San Juan de Oriente is a town of indigenous descent that bases its economy on the elaboration of handicrafts. We will visit the house of a local artisan where we can observe the elaborate pieces, and learn the whole process of this ancestral practice. It will amaze you to learn how they also make their own paint to decorate their works of art.

Our excursion continues to the Mirador de Catarina, where we will enjoy the impressive view of Laguna de Apoyo and in the distance, but equally impressive Lake Cocibolca, the city of Granada and the Mombacho Volcano. Great tour, experienced tour guide and very friendly. Only thing missing was the lunch that was advertised with the booking, we didn't get it. Otherwise, enjoyed the tour

Fredder was an excellent guide! He answered all of our questions. As two women travelling together we felt very safe. He guided us throughout the 4 activities with much information about each. It was nice to see and explore cultural heritage around.
